Going all of the way back to our Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase, Thoman was immediately identified as a top performer. At that event his positional size and fluid athleticism allowed him to simply drive it right and beat his peers to the basket. He still has success doing that, but has a more well-rounded game as the skill continues to develop. The 6’3″ Shelbyville wing got valuable varsity experience as a freshman, plays at a high level with Indy Heat on the EYBL Circuit, and checks a lot of boxes in terms of projectable athletic and physical tools.

You won’t find many freshmen with the athletic and physical tools of Thoman. The 6’3″ wing is physically dominant when going against his peers and can compete against all ages. He really stood out at our Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase where he consistently drove it to the basket and finished up around the rim. His ability to handle the ball some and play through contact makes the Shelbyville High School product an incredibly difficult matchup.

The Shelbyville High School prospect was very impressive on Sunday as a driver, slasher, and interior finisher. At 6’3″ he was able to overpower a lot of his defenders and get to the spots he wanted around the basket. We wouldn’t be surprised to see him as a contributor for Shelbyville sooner rather than later. He was definitely among the most impressive prospects at the Freshman Showcase.

He was able to physically dominate many of his peers off of the dribble and had a lot of success scoring around the rim. Thoman also projects as a high-level positional rebounder. Whether he was scoring in transition, finishing with either hand at the end of his drives, or defending multiple positions Thoman was one of the most impressive prospects at the event.

An excellent athlete that has excellent on the baseball field, gridiron, and hardwood, Thoman enters his career at Shelbyville High School already checking a lot of boxes in terms of athletic and physical tools. We are excited to get eyes on Thoman and evaluate him among a high-level collection of his peers in the Class of 2029.
