Besides the main cast of characters in this game, the one player that I came away super impressed with in the Westfield vs University game was senior guard

. To me, it felt like Mohamud set the tone super early for University being that energetic spark they needed on both ends of the floor. He was super active on the defensive side of the ball which would eventually lead him to getting some offense going. He is super fast and dynamic on the ball and plays with a constant high motor. He finished with 13 points.

It was overshadowed a bit by his opponent’s 31-point scoring outburst, but Mohamud was cooking as a pure scorer on Tuesday night as well. The 6’2″ unsigned senior guard was hitting tough pull-up shots and showcasing his ability to get a bucket from all three levels. He finished with 16 points and 3 steals in University’s 69-65 loss to Liberty Christian.

Mohamud was on fire from three-point range in this one connecting on five triples on his way to 21 points as University defeated Cardinal Ritter 77-62. The long, lean senior guard is a skilled offensive threat that should garner some small college interest this winter.

Mohamud has really burst onto the scene this spring and summer with Hoosier State Prospects 17u after averaging 9.6 points per game for the Class 2A State Runner-Up as a junior. The 6’2″ guard is a good playmaker that consistently plays off of two feet at the end of his drives and is a willing passer. However, aside from the playmaking, he also poured in 26 points in a game at GRBA Nationals on Saturday. What he can do on the offensive end makes him a solid under-the-radar backcourt piece to follow.

The defending Class 2A State Runner-Up University Trailblazers return quite a bit including the 6’2″ Mohamud who had an excellent spring for the Hoosier State Prospects . He is a shifty guard with a well-rounded game that includes shooting it well from beyond the arc and creating for himself off of the bounce. Mohamud has the athleticism to function in the paint and around the rim as a finisher and gets good elevation on his perimeter jump shots. He is a solid under-the-radar name to follow in the rising senior class.

Mohamud is putting together a really strong summer and should be on college coaches list of guys to watch at the Run N Slam next weekend. The 6’2″ guard from University High School averaged 21 points per game while shooting an incredible 14-22 (63.6%) from three-point range as the Hoosier State Prospects went 2-1 over the weekend. He was the third leading scorer this past season for the Trailblazers who were the Class 2A State Runner-Up.
