Barnett continues to trend upward for me because it’s all starting to come together. Barnett already has the size at 6’6 and is still growing and he is a fluid athlete. He uses his length for rebounds, and defensively it allows him to defend more positions as well. He’s tough on both ends and competes at a high level. We’ve got to see him a couple of times this summer and different games called for different versions of him, and he consistently adjusted. He’s shifts momentum with rebounds, finishes around the basket and can extend it to the mid-range and 3-ball and is a force defensively blocking shots at the rim. The foundation is there physically, and now the overall skill package is starting to catch up in a major way which will make him dangerous. Tag is a player and will only continue to rise. He certainly has long term upside. 

Barnett looks better and better each time we see him and the thing about his game is how little mistakes he makes. He impacts the game in different ways and each game called for a different Barnett. He is a beast on the glass and gives his team second chance opportunities. He took over in the game against Colorado Mayhem as he had big boards and showed touch around the rim. He went on a scoring barrage from around the bases and at the high post, he kept plays alive and took shots when he got them. Defensively, he’s very active as he uses his length to deter shots around the rim and is a versatile defender. Curious to see how he finishes off grassroots but we certainly want to see more of him as we get closer to the season.

From rotating through screens to attacking the rim, Barnett is an all-around star in the making. Barnett will thrive on Cherry Creek’s roster as he’ll develop efficiently his freshman year and ease into solid minutes in the rotation. The 6’6 forward can create a shot from anywhere on the floor. Once Barnett develops a consistent jumper, he should expect to make bounds and strides in the rankings.

Barnett has the size that immediately stands out when he steps on the court. He establishes strong positioning down low and seals off defenders to create easy scoring opportunities. His length and strength allow him to go up confidently for rebounds and finish through contact, making him a constant presence around the basket. What makes him even more intriguing is the potential still ahead. Developing more shot creation ability in the mid and deep range will add another dimension to his offensive threat. Strengthening his footwork, balance and positioning on both ends will help him become a true game changer in the paint. With his size, touch and competitive edge Barnett is a force whose best basketball is still to come
