About Taggart
Expert Analysis
Duvalier Johnson | Prep Hoops Scout
White is a player who remains one of the more fascinating long-term bets in the class because of the combination of size, instincts, and offensive feel. I’m big on being versatile and processing the game and at 6’2, he already does those things. He initiates offense, creates in transition and makes smart reads to force the defense to collapse. That’s what stands out most for me is how comfortable he looks with the ball in his hands and how effective he is making plays for others. He’s a player who should pop come junior and senior year but has shown flashes over the summer to keep the intrigue that. Excited to see what it looks like a year from now because when it comes together, the sky is the limit for Taggart.

White’s size, versatility, and feel for the game make him one of the most intriguing long-term prospects in the 2029 class, and he can be the best player in the class when it is all said and done. To look at where he is now and where we project him to be in his Senior year is fun. At 6’2, he combines scoring touch with strong floor awareness. He can initiate offense or finish in transition. His ability to process the game quickly and impact multiple areas gives him significant upside, but the game slows down for him, especially when going up against players his age. White’s poised to earn early varsity minutes for Valor Christian and is a Top-3 player in the class.

White was one of the top freshman performers on the day, and it was not close. At 6’2, he combined size, maturity, and vision. He initially stood out to me as one of the top scorers, but then he added himself as the top facilitator in the freshman class as well. He ran the floor, finished inside, and got teammates easy looks. His balanced game, high IQ, and unselfishness made him one of the day’s MVPs and a player ready for varsity right now. HUGE showing from Taggart, and I’d buy stock early if I were you.

White is a combo guard who showed with PSB that he can attack and finish at the rim while also finding the open shooter when defenses collapse. We will be watching how he knocks down shots consistently from the perimeter, makes quick reads under pressure and control of the game’s tempo. If he can combine his ability to penetrate with a reliable outside shot and steady decision making, White can cement himself as a versatile backcourt piece capable of running an offense or playing off the ball effectively
