Rockwood will be a key piece for Valor Christian and could play a major role in the team’s success this season. The skilled guard brings a valuable combination of shooting ability, court vision and unselfish play that helps elevate the offense. When Rockwood was on the floor last season, Valor consistently looked more fluid offensively, as he did a great job creating opportunities for both himself and his teammates. He finished the year averaging 6.4 points and 2.4 assists per game while recording a season high 17 points. Some of his strongest performances came against quality competition, showing he can rise to the occasion. As his confidence and role continue to grow, Rockwood has the potential to become one of Valor’s most important contributors and leaders this season

Rockwood’s development throughout the season showed a guard growing into a more assertive playmaking role. He’s comfortable with the ball in his hands, and he operates with great feel, making reads and keeping the offense organized. Rockwood showed progress as a shooter, knocking down perimeter looks with confidence, while using his handle to create space. As his aggression increases, his ability to control tempo and impact games continues to trend upward, and we hope to see more of him this summer.

Rockwood checks off many boxes for a talented young player and has made the most out of his opportunities this season. He has good size, understands where to be on the floor, and has a great feel for the game. The 6’2 guard is coming off one of his best games of the year, as they went up against a tough Regis squad and showed that he will compete with anyone. He’s looked more aggressive and comfortable as a scorer, and that has allowed him to earn more minutes. I’m excited to see how his game continues to evolve, but as of right now, it will be building on the momentum he’s on and doing whatever is needed to help Valor win the game.

Rockwood is poised for a big year of growth at Valor and already showed he can impact the game in multiple ways. He plays tough nosed, disciplined defense with active hands that generate steals, and he stays glued to his man all the way into the paint, where he can elevate for timely blocks. In transition his vision shines as he pushes the pace and finds the right read. Add in his ability to bury contested threes, and Rockwood looks ready to become a true two way weapon this season with playing time
