When you see the roster for that Colorado Magic team, other names jump off the board, so when watching them, that’s who you expect to make those big plays. Well, I came away impressed with Luke Jones Luke Jones 6'5" | SG/SF Valor Christian | 2029 State CO as he’s a player who stars in his role and is willing to do it all for his team. He’s slashing, defending both the guards and the bigs, and actually took out one of the top bigs on the weekend, entirely out of the game. He ran the baseline offensively, grabbed boards out of his area, and went right up with boards he got in the paint and also hit some timely 3-pointers at crucial parts of the game. There’s more to his game than just scoring, and I think that will translate. He’s a player to keep on the radar. 

Jones brings a combination of height, toughness and intensity to the floor. He battles hard down low on both ends, using his frame and physicality to control the paint and disrupt opponents. Offensively he’s capable of taking his defender to the basket, finishing strong through contact and providing a steady interior presence that gives his team reliability inside. As he continues to grow a consistent mid range game will make him a more versatile scoring option who can step out and stretch the floor. Learning to be more effective when coming off and setting screens will also open up more offensive opportunities for both him and his teammates. With his size and motor, Jones has the tools to become a true defensive stopper who anchors a defense and changes the game with his presence around the rim

Jones impressed with his toughness and relentless effort, consistently battling through traffic and staying around the ball on both ends of the floor. He showed the ability to score with both hands, finishing plays through contact and in tight spaces. His combination of physicality, awareness, and scoring versatility made him a constant presence, and he demonstrated that he can impact the game in multiple ways beyond just the stat sheet
