Prep Hoops Ranking: 28th

Next Highest Ranking: 38th (Rivals)

The Utah Mountain Stars have some of the most intriguing talent on the UAA circuit and Nang has a ton of upside as guys his size don’t usually have the ball skills Nang does. I caught Nang in person back in July and it was easy to see why Nang is ranked in the top 40 on Rivals and I’m even higher on his upside. Nang has legit creation upside at his size and defensively he can guard multiple positions. Utah has a lot of 2029 talent with three prospects in our top 60 but Nang is the highest ranked of the bunch and should continue to gain buzz at Anthem Prep this winter.

Nang brings a lot of upside to the list, and he is starting to turn his recruitment from D1’s to P5 D1’s. The athleticism alone could be a game-changer on the floor. He covers so much ground on defense and the helpside help that he can provide is high level. Nang can also rebound the ball, and he provides another player who can push the ball up the floor. In the open floor, Nang plays above the rim. Offensively, he is going to keep adding versatility to his game but he can slash to the rim and with his active play he could be a problem to stay with or keep in-front.

At 6’9”, Naang brings a rare combination of length and athleticism for the 2029 class. He has a strong defensive presence with the ability to make things difficult for opponents on that end of the floor. Offensively, he has shown the ability to knock down catch-and-shoot threes, while his handle continues to improve and gives him more options off the bounce. The upside is significant with Naang, and his combination of size, athleticism, defensive ability and developing perimeter skills makes him a player with plenty of long-term potential.

Anthem Prep might be on the right track when it comes to building a team, as they have been able to bring in some elite talent from all over the world, and Naang is among the players who will put college coaches in the seats. Although the team is loaded with next-level talent Naang brings a lot of excitement, especially when he is driving the lane or when he is in the open court; he is a high flyer that you will hear more about nationally.

Naag is a kid who continues to impress, and it is crazy that he is just scratching the surface of his level of play. Naang just picked up a big-time offer from one of the schools that have been chasing some big fish over the past few years, and that is BYU. If this is the beginning, you can expect the suitors to start making their way to Utah to try and entice Naang to leave the state.

Naang is currently the #1 player in the Class of 2029, and he has picked up a few offers. Recently, he picked up an offer from Stanford. The high-flying CG has really turned heads with his athleticism and potential as he continues to add to his game. Naang has done a phenomenal job playing in the open floor, and as he gets more and more comfortable with getting to his spots, you will only see him rise in the national rankings.

Naang is incredibly intriguing as the top ranked prospect in Utah’s 2029 class showed off his athleticism and versatility in a dominant win for Utah Mountain Stars 16 U. Naang had a sweet half spin off a post up that resulted in a slam dunk for him as his combination of fluid athleticism, ball handling ability at his size and age is very tough to find. Also flashing some perimeter shooting ability with turnaround jumpers and set 3-pointers, Naang projects as a high major target if he stays on course.

This summer is going to be huge for Naang, who has already had an impressive spring. Excited to see how his game continues to develop through the summer.

Naang’s 6’9″ frame is a serious advantage, and it’s something other players just can’t compete with. Down in the paint, he’s pretty much owning it grabbing boards and controlling the glass like it’s his personal territory. Instead of forcing tough shots, he’s been using his vision to spot open teammates and kicking the ball out for easy looks. His ability to create extra scoring opportunities makes him a huge asset, not just for his size but for his smart decision making on the court
