Max Winston Max Winston 6'4" | PF/SF De La Salle | 2028 State MN is part of a talented 2028 coming up at DeLaSalle. He caught my eye immediately with his bounce in warmups, showcasing explosive above-the-rim athleticism. That translated into the game against Wisconsin Blaze where he jumped an inbounds pass and went the other way for a two hand slam. Capable catch-and-shoot wing from beyond the arc, but was at his best using his physicality to get to the rim and finish inside. Nice blend of size, strength, and athleticisim as a sophomore.

Having a guy like Jonas Mccreary driving to the hoop and taking a lot of defensive attention, Winston took the brute end of the glass cleaning and put back opportunities, and he ran with it. In the second half of a close game, Winston had back to back and-one finishes. Neither of these finishes were ticky-tacky small fouls, either, both went straight through contact to convert the bucket. Winston also wasn’t afraid to put the ball on the ground and drive from the perimeter.

Max is up to 6’4″ and he is one of the strongest players in the 2028 Class. He hoops with a high motor, and is constantly getting rebounds, deflections, and steals. Winston is a versatile defender who can guard 1-5. He excels at leading the break after he secures a rebound and is great at finding teammates for a dish or kickout. He shoots the 3 and scores off the bounce. Max recently had a game with 17 rebounds, he is the glue of Minnesota Fury 15U Shepherd.
