Taaj continues to impress, as he turned in an impressive showing in a win on Saturday. Everyone knows he is a knockdown shooter from the perimeter and he was taking advantage of the defense giving him any space, pulling up with no hesitation. He did a good job dealing with physicality from opposing defenders, being able to work himself downhill for finishes with touch. Whitlock is such a reliable ball handler and is a very smart decision maker.

Taaj turned in a masterful performance on Sunday morning, dominating from start to finish. He opened the game with a couple makes from three-point range, taking advantage of a hand not being in his face at all times. He looked great attacking the basket, giving defenders a bump where he could go up strong or show off touch a couple feet out from the basket. Whitlock is also a great passer and was setting up his teammates for success.

Taaj had a huge first half for Gain Elite , helping lead his team to a win over Howard Pulley in 15u play. One of the top 2028 guards in the state, Taaj is a three level scorer with a smooth jumper at 6’2. Taaj was making defenders pay for allowing him to catch in space from three, but when they got up on him Taaj was able to beat them off the dribble and find pockets of space to score. Like his older brother Nas, Taaj only needs a few inches of space to get into his pull-up jumper, and once he gets into a rhythm he can put points on the board in a hurry.

The 6’2 point guard showed a keen ability to hit from three in Gain Elite s matchup with Minnesota Select . Nailing shots from beyond the arc with a high arcing jumper with good touch on the ball. With his size and height Whitlock also has no problem going inside and driving his way to the cup.
