The 6’9 center just looks and plays more matured than just about everybody on the floor. His actions, movements, approach and decisions seem like a matured talent. Omar shot about 92 percent from the floor on two point field goals with his cuts and post moves showing some touch.

Omar turned in a fantastic day at The Expo, looking like one of the biggest stock risers in the state this summer. The 6’9” forward has blossomed into an elite athlete, being able to dominate the interior. He was playing above the rim all day, throwing down dunks in traffic and constantly blocking and altering shots. He also showed he is more than capable of putting the ball on the floor and creating using the dribble. Ali is in for a bigtime senior season at DeLaSalle.

Omar Ali Omar Ali 6'9" | PF DeLaSalle | 2027 State MN is a 2027 six-foot-nine-inch center from DeLaSalle and played with Gain Elite P32. Ali is a big presence in the middle, a player that takes up a lot of space. Ali can finish over defenders with his size and length, and does well on short-range shots when he keeps the ball high.

Omar had some impressive flashes throughout the day both in the 3v3 and 5v5 settings. He flashed improved touch out beyond the arc draining a few jumpers throughout the day, but was at his best around the basket. Omar was able to use his big 6’9 frame to power his way up for some strong finishes inside, and when given a lane to the rim he was taking flight for some explosive dunks. Each year he looks a bit more athletic and comfortable on the ball, and you won’t find many guys in the state his size that move as well as him in the open floor. Really like his effort running the floor and moving his feet to defend smaller players on the perimeter.

This is a 6’9 big that really knows how to play and uses his big frame so well. Had a couple really impressive blocks, cut to the rim for some quality finishes including a couple dunks, and he cleared the way for players with ball screens. Plays his role very well.

Why should you recruit Omar? I think Omar continues to surprise people with his court sense, agility at his size, and his consistency. He was better for both DeLaSalle and Gain Elite than I think many expected and I think he can be a dependable college big at the next level.

Omar Ali is a six-foot-nine-inch 2027 forward from DeLaSalle and played with Gain Elite on the P32 Circuit. Ali has good size combined with length and reach, and an ability to create extra possessions grabbing offensive rebounds. Ali runs the floor and can be above the rim finisher. Has potential to grow his shooting ability stretching the floor.

Omar Ali Omar Ali 6'9" | PF DeLaSalle | 2027 State MN is a physical worker in the paint for Gain Elite , and he was up to the challenge against Comets Elite on Saturday night. He was putting in the extra effort that led to winning plays for his team, battling on the glass for putback buckets, and hustling to get into positions to contest around the rim. He strung together a nice run of play over a few minutes where he had two offensive boards leading to easy finishes inside, followed up by a big rejection on the defensive end. Has some nice physical tools to work with as he continues to gain experience competing with/against some of Minnesota’s best.
