– Kamp is a six-foot-two-inch 2028 guard from DeLaSalle that may have made the biggest impression this spring and summer with Fury Shep. Kamp showcased consistently that he can get downhill as a ball handler from the perimeter and get to the rim where he proved to be a solid finisher. Kamp at times proved he could hit outside shots and worked well as a primary scorer for Fury Shep while also being a creator with the ball. Kamp showed skills to operate with the ball and passing to open players running the offense.

I have been impressed with Galen all summer and he turned in a fantastic weekend in Indianapolis, leading Minnesota Fury Shepherd to the 16U title game. The change of pace that he plays with is so tough to guard, being able to work around defenders with different speeds. He is an elite finisher around the rim, as he can hang in the air and contort his body in traffic. Kamp also had some great passes to teammates on the perimeter when the defense would crash inside.

was impactful using his length, size, and skillset. Strong Guard/Wing that made his presence felt on both ends of the floor. Active defender that was able to guard multiple positions. Rebounds well from the guard spot with the ability to push in transition. A bit of an unorthodox game on the offensive end with the ball in his hands. Herky jerky on drives, but figured out ways to get to his spots. Made the right play when the defense rotated, he found open teammates and took his open opportunities. Excellent cutter off the ball that allowed him a few easy buckets in the half court just off his movement. Just a fundamentally sound player that won’t wow you with his athleticism, but was steady all game.

When you see Galen compete for the Fury you can’t help but picture what his role is going to be the DeLaSalle Islanders, because Kamp is such a good fit for his team as a junior. There aren’t many rotational spots open (only two guys aren’t returning) but you have to think a guy that has the smarts, the patience, and the quick physical step to finish like Galen does should have the strong potential for a spot.
Galen has been an All State 16u player this year and one of the top PPG guys in 16u if there was a magical way to produce such a thing. Facing the Trailblazers out of Milwaukee, Kamp scored 13 points on six of nine shots plus he locked his guy down, he grabbed seven boards and dished out four assists.
Kamp is tough, smart, consistent, and a great fit for the Islanders.

Galen has been one of the breakout players in the state’s 2028 class this spring/summer. Going a bit overshadowed in a loaded DeLaSalle backcourt, Galen has had his skillset on display with MN Fury these past few months. Yesterday he helped lead his team to a win over Midwest Mayhem, taking over down the stretch. His change of speed on the ball helped him get into the lane just about anytime he wanted to, where he was able to finish with either hand. He never looked sped up and always stayed under control, able to stop on a dime and kick it out if a driving lane closed down.

DeLaSalle is loaded with young talent, and Galen looks to be a 2028 to keep an eye on over the next two seasons. Running with Minnesota Fury 16u-Shepherd Galen helped lead his team to a comeback win over Wisconsin Blaze . He spent most of the game running the offense for his team, able to handle under pressure and use change of speed to create for himself or his teammates. Galen did a nice job of forcing the defense to collapse on him and then kicking it out to his open shooters. Defensively he’s a tough on-ball defender, and his length at 6’2 helped him come up with a number of steals as well as a chase-down block in the second half. Capped off the win with an and-one finish.
