Expert Analysis
Max Wagner | Prep Hoops Scout
When Ichima is locked in, there aren’t many better defenders in the state. At 6’7 he’s capable of guarding every spot on the floor at the high school level, and we saw that versatility in a pair of wins for the Islanders on Sunday. Ichima was working to move his feet with smaller guards, put himself in position to protect the rim off the ball, and was sprinting back in transition for some chase-down blocks. Offensively he flashed the fluid mobility and handles that make him so tough for opposing forwards to stick with on the ball.

Ichima Idoko is a six-foot-seven-inch 2028 wing from DeLaSalle and is a prospect that offers a lot of intrigue in the 2028 class of Minnesota players. Idoko is long, very athletic, can play on the perimeter like a guard even at his size on offense and defense, and can be a dynamic scorer. Idoko as a deep range shooter looks to have smooth out his shot a bit, a bit less arc than at the end of the 2025-26 high school season, and is as bouncy as ever in transition.
