The best of the best when it comes to the seniors at the Minnesota Expo!

FIRST TEAM

The potential of this young man is off the charts. he is truly a wing in the way he plays the game and at 6'7 with length and explosion, Brown has scholarship level ability. He is a decent to good shooter of the ball at the perimeter although it was a tougher day Saturday shooting, which was fine because Brown just went at the rim for a continual run of highlights. His hidden talent (at a high level as a wing, not in high school numbers) is his rebounding ability. Brown is a very good rebounder.

Ward over powered everything at the Expo. Centers? Too slow. Fours? Too slow. Threes? Too weak. Twos? Too little. Ward went through everything to the front of the rim for a constant run of paint points. If there was a points per game total that we could magically put together, Ward would have been one of the PPG leaders. Drop step finished everything and just bulled his way to where he wanted to go. And he had a bad ankle!

Knox had a load of open floor finishes that made the highlights which is great as it showcases how well he gets up and down the floor at his size. But what I loved to see from Knox was two very important things: 1) Knox moves well laterally in a way that gives him outstanding ball screen defensive potential, and out standing help defense potential, and 2) this is a player that I think can be a state wide rebounding leader. Similar to the way that Sambrew just decided 17u was his double-double playground leading to success, I think Knox can do the same thing this winter at Eagan if he puts that level of work to it. He has the potential for it.

Moore's willingness to move the basketball and let the four guys around him run and enjoy the game was such an enjoyable thing. I think this weekend put Moore higher in my eyes when it comes to really good passers in this class. Willie is a crafty smooth scorer but a very precise passer as well. Surely a top 50 or better prospect in the class to me.

If you want to talk KING STOCK RISER that is [player_tooltip player_id='2569255' first='Logan' last='Duis']. Logan looks like that kid that all of a sudden needs new clothes and a new perspective from others because he looked taller, stronger, and way more explosive. Just the way Logan moved up and down the floor looked different than just three months ago. He was explosively finishing, aggressively rebounding and attacking, and looks like a much higher level prospect than we thought during 17u.

Concordia Academy.... don't overlook these guys Minnesota, because everybody is getting better over there.

SECOND TEAM

A real second glance was taken quite a few times watching Horne handle the basketball this weekend. There is a much better comfort for Gideon dribbling the basketball in various ways than previously seen and it helped him score at the rim in the halfcourt quite a few times. And.... he had like 16 dunks in three games.

The 6'9 center just looks and plays more matured than just about everybody on the floor. His actions, movements, approach and decisions seem like a matured talent. Omar shot about 92 percent from the floor on two point field goals with his cuts and post moves showing some touch.

"The 5'11” guard is so tough to stay in front of, as he has a deep bag of moves he can go to to work around opposing guards. He was hitting on pull-up looks from three and in the mid-range, also working great as a passer, creating so many open looks for his teammates." - Jack Pfeiffer

"He was a difference maker on the boards, cleaning up teammates' misses for second chance opportunities. He plays very unselfishly, moving the ball and only taking good shots. DePoint played without nonsense this weekend going heavy at the rim to score, grabbing all boards he could, and battling through all the size that was running through the event with quality success. I think DePoint is a top D3 recruit that could be an NAIA scholarship guy, or one of the late D2 partial number guys next spring.

THIRD TEAM

"I am always impressed with how hard and physical he plays inside, coming away with contested rebounds, defending tough against opposing forwards, and finishing through contact around the rim. Markus was a helpful player for Osseo last year but based on what we saw this weekend, Markus has the potential be a six active possession scores a game guy that leads his team in rebounds and always plays with energy. Markus is a big kid that moves well with much more potential than expected.

Remember what we said..... Concordia Academy. Huffman is one of the more skilled and smart players I saw all weekend. The timing of what he did recognizing the faults in the defense was A+ level as he continually play made for his team and he didn't without a rush or a panic, it was precise. This is a 23 point per game scorer from last year that should have a big senior season.

"I came into the event knowing Lavon was a lightning quick guard who can make plays defensively, but that confidence in his shot was a nice step forward in his development.

If you want to talk KING STOCK RISER that is Logan Duis Logan Duis Logan Duis 6'4" | CG/SG Concordia Academy | 2027 State MN .

Hutton is also a major threat from deep, using his quick release to get shots off fast in the catch-and-shoot." - Jack Pfeiffer
