After watching Willie closely this weekend, he’s even better than I thought. And I was pretty high on him from his previous 12 months of work. I’ve always thought he would make a great D3 lead guard for a really good D3 but man, in addition to that, I could see an NAIA offer coming his way for sure. And I would say there are about ten to fifteen kids that will still commit to D2s, most of them on partials, Moore is a guy I would consider for that. There are about 7-8 PGs that I think I would be higher on Moore than at this point that are listed above him.

Moore’s willingness to move the basketball and let the four guys around him run and enjoy the game was such an enjoyable thing. I think this weekend put Moore higher in my eyes when it comes to really good passers in this class. Willie is a crafty smooth scorer but a very precise passer as well. Surely a top 50 or better prospect in the class to me.

Willie is one of those guards you love to have on your team at showcase events. He’s constantly looking to get everyone involved, and never hesitated to pass the ball ahead if a teammate had some space in transition. In the half-court he used his quickness to get into dangerous areas before kicking it out to his shooters. He racked up a number of assists in the game I watched while creating many more good looks that just didn’t fall.

Owatonna is a favorite because of a player like Willie, there are so many defenders today that he made look silly.
