We know Hagler can shoot but he looks to be a tougher one on one cover than we have previously seen. Hagler was deadly with the dribble off the ball screen, and when the Tonka defenders were left on an island. We all know Hagler can shoot but the handles look sharper as do the plays immediately off the sharp move. The young defenders kept trying to take chances against Hagler and the senior kept making them pay using space to make his threes or attack lanes. The corner turn looked like it was quicker as well! Tyrece really passed the ball well too. And the step back….. so nasty. Stock up!

With Dre Collins Dre Collins 6'4" | SF Richfield | 2027 State MN not suited up on Sunday, Tyrece really stepped up to fill in for some of that lost production in an entertaining game against Minnetonka. He’s one of those guys who can have a quiet stretch of 5-10 minutes, and then out of nowhere hit a handful of threes in a 1-2 minute stretch to completely change the game. He got hot in the second half and was starting to hit some tough pull-up jumpers with a hand right in his face. He also impressed with a steal leading to a transition dunk to cap off a big game.

I anticipated Tyrece to be a game wrecker in 3-on-3 and I was correct. He has been so good in isolation situations over the years, and is at his best when going to get a bucket. The change of pace he plays with is so impressive, as he was blowing by defenders with ease, resulting in a lot of easy finishes around the basket. Hagler is also a knockdown shooter and could not be left open from deep.

Tyrece was an offensive juggernaut in both 3v3 and 5v5 action on Saturday afternoon. He has a complete offensive game, as he can put the ball on the floor and create for himself while also shooting the lights out. I was especially impressed by Tyrece’s ability to shoot off the dribble. He consistently created separation with his dribble moves and turned that space into made jump shots. His ability to create his own shot and knock down jumpers makes him a difficult matchup for opposing defenses.

Hagler entering his senior year could make a serious impact and show his ability as the leader this year at Richfield.

We are seeing Minnesota shooters in that 6’0, 6’1, 6’2 area go from Minnesota to the NAIA level and have great careers. Some of them have moved from NAIA to D2 or the D1 level.

Hagler is a game changing level shooter. Both Richfield and Minnesota Select have benefited at the Class AAA and 17U respective levels from his shooting touch and I think Hagler is one of the best shooters in the state. A guy that I think could flourish at that level.

Tyrece was hitting some tough shots to keep his Select team in it against Fury in the semi-finals. Any time his team needed a bucket, they got the ball to Tyrece and let him go to work. He started off high school as more of a catch-and-shoot three point threat, but since then has continued to expand his game off the dribble. So quick changing directions on the ball, the touch to finish off the glass from difficult angles, and range that extends to well beyond the arc.
