Ben brings so much to the table as a depth guard for this Minnesota Select team, as he can impact winning across multiple areas. He brings great effort on the defensive end, as he fits well with a team that wants to speed up opposing guards with ball pressure. He is an excellent passer and plays very unselfish basketball, always looking to set up his teammates for an open look. Heidgerken also had some nice touch finishes around the basket, being a capable scorer.

WHY?
He is a point guard who has the ball in his hands often but he is an excellent rebounder. Heidgerken sees the floor well and is great at finding his teammates for easy assists/buckets. Ben elevates the players around him, his team is better when he is on the hardwood.

Ben had a really nice performance in a game that featured a number of talented guards. He was one of the best passers from the event, keeping the ball moving in the half-court and tossing the ball ahead for some easy transition buckets. Really crafty on the ball finding ways to get into the paint and finish, and had a buzzer beating lay-up to close out the first half. Part of a nice 2027 group at Richfield.

Ben made some impressive plays during the final game of the day. He’s a tough as nails guard, who despite standing at 5’6 had no fear attacking the basket. Had a tough and-one finish during the first half, and showcased impressive body control on a few more finishes throughout the game. Was unselfish with the ball and was making quick decisions all game long.
