“I came into the event knowing Lavon was a lightning quick guard who can make plays defensively, but that confidence in his shot was a nice step forward in his development. Throughout the game he was a pest on the ball for opposing guards, and did a great job of flying up the floor to get his athletes the ball in transition.” – Max Wagner

It took Lavon just five seconds to score the first bucket of the game, as the Camden guard took the opening tip and dribbled straight into a pull-up three from the top of the key. I came into the event knowing Lavon was a lightning quick guard who can make plays defensively, but that confidence in his shot was a nice step forward in his development. Throughout the game he was a pest on the ball for opposing guards, and did a great job of flying up the floor to get his athletes the ball in transition.

I really am a fan of the way Lavon Jordan showcases his ability to be a floor general. Lavon played his point guard role well, making the right plays at the right time. He was unselfish, knowing when to get the ball to open teammates and when to feed the hot hand. When guards play the right way, the ball finds them again more often than not, which was the case for Lavon. I liked how he used ball fakes and head fakes to attack defenders closing out, creating opportunities for the one-dribble pull-up and stop-and-pop jump shot, both of which Lavon was knocking down efficiently.

This Minneapolis Camden guard came to camp with supreme confidence regardless of the matchup. He put pressure on the defense in a heart beat whilst quickly deciphering when to attack and when to distribute. His sound approach allowed him to be a threat on all three levels of the floor. Standing at 5’11, Jordan got to his spots even when defenders’ attempted to make him settle from range.
