Koch made a killing from behind the arc converting on several shots from deep he has a clean release on his shot and isn’t afraid to get it off. He also showed that he can find others for scoring chances off their own. Koch scored at the foul line. He found his teammates for scoring chances. He was a mainstay in his Minnesota Fury teams offensive arsenal.

I saw Ben play up at the 15U level last year and he has been even more impressive playing with this Minnesota Fury Wilde 15U squad this spring that has now won back-to-back championships at Prep Hoops events. He is tough to stay in front of with the ball in his hands, as he has great change of pace and a deep bag of moves to work around his defender. Koch is also a lights out shooter from the perimeter, as he looked more than comfortable knocking down tough looks.

Ben looks to be next up out of East Ridge. He put on one of the best shooting displays I saw all weekend during the semi-finals on Sunday, knocking down shot after shot from well beyond the arc. It got to the point where the opposing team was face-guarding him just to try to prevent him from touching the ball. When he’s not connecting from three, Ben handles the point like a seasoned vet. He’s an unselfish player who’s going to get his team into their sets, is comfortable dribbling under pressure, and can beat a defender off the dribble to get into dangerous areas.

Ben has all of the skills to be a great point guard at the varsity level. He is a very trustworthy ball handler, running his team’s offense and creating for himself and his teammates. I was really impressed with his ability to shoot off of the dribble, being able to pull up off balance and sink a tough look. Koch was also a threat off the catch, knocking down a pair of assisted three-point shots.

Ben looks to be one of the most skilled players in the class at this stage. He has a nice feel for the game, a buttery smooth jumper, and makes quick decisions with the ball. Knocked down shots from a variety of locations, and made passes through tight gaps that not many guys in this class could make. Part of a solid looking 2028 class at East Ridge.

The second East Ridge player on this list, Ben shot the lights out in the game I watched. He’s listed at 5’9, but has long arms that seem to suggest he could grow a bit more. At this stage, he has a quick crossover to create separation, and a near automatic jumper that was connecting from three and mid-range. Plays with great pace and changes his direction quickly to create separation off of limited dribbles.
