The Oklahoma State Tournaments consist of the eight best teams throughout the state in their respective class. Here are the eight teams from 6A I have making their way to the state tournament.

West Side Representatives from Districts 1 and 2

NORMAN

The Tigers are one of my favorites to make it to the state tournament. They are well coached and have a few players returning who played in the state tournament last year. Over the summer, Norman added former Deer Creek player and state champion [player_tooltip player_id='1503677' first='Caison' last='Robinson'], which was a huge transfer for the Tigers. He brings experience and championship DNA to the team. Robinson is a critical piece for the Tigers with his scoring ability and size. They are also led by senior guards [player_tooltip player_id='1552322' first='Beau' last='Billingsley'] and Montreal Combs-Pierce, two seasoned guards who have been with the Tigers program all four years of high school. Billingsley is a 6'0” guard who plays with great pace and has a pro-level bag that he consistently displays. He distributes the ball well for Norman and keeps the offense flowing. Combs-Pierce is a Swiss Army knife who can do a little bit of everything. What really stands out to me is his motor. His ability to stay active throughout games is impressive—if you watch a game, you'll find him getting steals, finishing breakaway dunks, or maybe even catching a poster off the dribble. The Indy commit does a lot for the Tigers and is going to be huge for them come playoff time. [player_tooltip player_id='2394516' first='Gideon' last='Holt'] is another valuable asset for the Tigers. He is a pure scorer who hits big shots when they need them and plays with great poise. The Tigers also have strong bench production, which will definitely help them throughout the playoffs. I'm looking forward to seeing the tigers push to make their 4 consecutive state run.

MUSTANG

The Broncos are a team I expect to be in the state tournament. They are well coached and are a really good, all-around team for the most part. They check all the boxes for a good, well-rounded basketball team. They have lob threats in Gabriel Osborne and [player_tooltip player_id='2712639' first='Garrett' last='Smith']. They also have some shooters, including the best shooter in the state, [player_tooltip player_id='1552351' first='Drew' last='Reynolds']. The Broncos are locked in and loaded. One of their key weapons that I think will have a huge impact in their playoff push is Scyon Wilborn. He is a really unselfish point guard for a player who can score the ball. Scyon utilizes his passing ability a lot, and he is huge for the Broncos. You also have [player_tooltip player_id='2140772' first='Mar'Quell' last='Robinson'], who is a very aggressive guard. He is second in command of the offense, scores the ball really well, and defends at a high level. This Mustang team can be a really scary group and cause havoc for a lot of teams when they are clicking. They also get really good production out of their bench and defend well as a team. I'm interested to see how they do in the playoffs. I believe they have all the talent and coaching to earn themselves a spot in the state tournament.

CHOCTAW

The Yellowjackets are a dark horse team that I have shocking people and making a state run. The have good size for Oklahoma, and they are also one of the teams with experience. Leading the Yellowjackets is [player_tooltip player_id='2283661' first='Jordan' last='Valentine'] a 6'6 guard; who is a skilled player with size and one of the best defenders in the state, if not the best. His shot-making ability is great, and he has a nice frame that allows him to make physical finishes. He can also shoot it well from three. On the other hand, we have [player_tooltip player_id='2218106' first='Steven' last='Anderson'], who transferred to Choctaw from Carl Albert last year and has since stood out for the Yellowjackets. Steven is one of the fastest players in the state with the ball in his hand, and he can score at a very high clip. He will be crucial for Choctaw as they try to get back to state. Choctaw also has players like Titus Hawk, a 6'7 big who runs the floor well, defends the rim, and gets above the rim for Choctaw. He helps them a ton, especially defensively. They also have their shooter [player_tooltip player_id='2707659' first='Bryce' last='Thompson'], who lights it up from deep and really stretches the floor for Choctaw. With good coaching and the defensive tenacity Choctaw plays with, I look forward to seeing them shock a lot of people when playoff time comes.

Southmoore

I believe the Sabercats will be a team that'll claw their way to the state tournament. Leading the Sabercats is [player_tooltip player_id='2140800' first='Tyson' last='Pogi'], one of the best players in the state regardless of class. Tyson is a relentless scorer who demands the defense's attention. Alongside Tyson is [player_tooltip player_id='2140751' first='Jasper' last='Chaves']; he has really raised his stock this year and stepped into a bigger role for the Sabercats. He is an athletic wing who excels at finishing at the rim and is a name you hear constantly producing for Southmoore. Right now, Southmoore sits at 8–2 in district play. I expect them to keep the ball rolling going into the playoffs and use that momentum to push for the State Tournament.

East Side Representatives from Districts 3 and 4

OWASSO

The Ram have been to the state tournament three years in a row, and with them still having a few players who were a part of those runs, I can certainly see their experience helping them. While they do have a lot of experience, they also have one of the best players in the nation in [player_tooltip player_id='1552319' first='Jalen' last='Montonati']. He really changes the game for the Rams with his scoring. Jalen scores the ball from all three levels, which opens up the floor for his teammates, like [player_tooltip player_id='1552362' first='Boden' last='Williams'], who is also a big piece for the Rams. Boden is a lights-out shooter who has really progressed every year, and the way he played in the absence of Montonati was phenomenal. He really stepped up and showed the state of Oklahoma that he is one of the best scorers in the state. Owasso also has great role players. M.J. Milton, a 6'4” guard, is physical, can rebound, shoots it well from three, and is really solid in his role. Another key contributor for the Rams is [player_tooltip player_id='2327598' first='Julian' last='Wilson'], a 6'3” guard who can light it up from three and is also a really good finisher at the rim. Another player who will be crucial in their run is [player_tooltip player_id='1552381' first='Koen' last='Scott']. He is a scrappy guard who has been with Owasso all four years of his career, making him another experienced, seasoned guard. He brings a great defensive presence for the Rams, doing all the dirty work and scoring when needed.

EDMOND SANTA FE

The Wolves a team I have making a state run. Santa Fe has looked really good under new head coach Terry Evans. Just based on his winning résumé alone, we knew Santa Fe was going to be a team to watch this year. His coaching style has made the team look totally different. They are flying around on defense, full-court pressing and using their length. They are one of the biggest teams in the state, if not the biggest. On top of their size, they have guards and wings with real skill. You have players like Money Robinson, a savvy point guard who can create off the dribble, control the offense, and defend the ball. He has been with Santa Fe for four years, bringing a lot of experience, and he will be a huge part of their playoff run. Alongside Money, you have sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2381835' first='TJ' last='Newton']. T.J. has really raised his stock this season and is now well known across the state, viewed as one of Santa Fe's best scorers. The way he can score the ball is ridiculous, and if he can continue to be consistent, Santa Fe will cause serious problems. There are so many things to say about Santa Fe and so many players to mention. They have true glue guys like Dewayne McKinney JR, [player_tooltip player_id='2823543' first='JoJo' last='Baba'], Josh Baba, [player_tooltip player_id='2382120' first='Ty' last='Walker'] [player_tooltip player_id='2677318' first='Brian' last='Hopgood Jr'] , and C.J. Dawkins. Every player named excels in their role and, at any given time, can lead the team in any category. Santa Fe is a well-rounded team.

PUTNAM CITY NORTH

The Panthers will return to the state tournament. PC North is returning the majority of their state tournament team from last year. This season, PC North has played a really tough schedule, winning every game except one, which they lost to district rival Broken Arrow—a team they later beat at home in their most recent matchup. I believe PC North is a serious contender for the championship. They beat a Missouri powerhouse in Cardinal Ritter, who won state the year before last and made the state championship game in Missouri Class 5A. They also took down the defending Texas 6A state champions in Duncanville. They have been battle-tested all season and have come out victorious nearly every time. From the looks of things, the Panthers aren't slowing down as they sit at 18–1 on the season. Two of the Panthers' leading players are [player_tooltip player_id='2509295' first='Keaton' last='Murry'] and Nate Muriithi. The sophomore guard and senior forward are matchup nightmares. Murry is a shifty, three-level scoring guard with size at 6'4”. He's a great creator off the bounce and has impressive athleticism. Nate is a physically imposing wing who may be the most athletic player in the state. He's known for his rebounding, rim protection, and tenacious dunks. Nate is a major lob threat and one of the best transition players in the state, and he will be critical to PC North's playoff run. They also have three snipers who can light it up beyond the arc: [player_tooltip player_id='2326941' first='Miles' last='Jackson'], [player_tooltip player_id='1437034' first='Mekhi' last='Thomas'], and C.J. Heskett. These guys are lights-out shooters who stretch the floor for PC North. Miles, at 6'7”, makes it even tougher on defenders because he can shoot over the top with ease. Another key contributor is [player_tooltip player_id='2437536' first='Devion' last='Gillispie'], a sophomore guard who can score at a high clip. On the defensive end, while all PC North players are solid, two stand out in particular: T.J. McNeely and [player_tooltip player_id='2495271' first='Malakye' last='Schoats']. T.J. is a physical defender who can guard positions one through five, while Schoats applies pressure 94 feet, making opponents work to advance the ball. Both players also draw a lot of charges. PC North looks to be trending in the right direction heading into the playoffs, and I look forward to seeing them make a run.

BROKEN ARROW

The Tigers are looking like they will return to the state tournament. The Tigers are led by [player_tooltip player_id='2224276' first='Corban' last='Dow']. Dow is a 6'6” shooting guard who can really score consistently and has great size, which makes him a tough cover for most teams in the state that might not have a guard his height. The attention he draws on the court opens the floor well for BA and allows other players to shine. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='2841083' first='Coy' last='Lemons'] is a 6'5” wing who can slash and shoot. He is also active on the boards and plays solid defense for the Tigers. He is a really good role player. [player_tooltip player_id='1613564' first='Aidan' last='Clark'] was a huge transfer BA received this summer. Clark is 6'7” with a big frame, can shoot it from three, excels in the pick-and-roll, is a beast on the glass, and is one of the best rim protectors on the team. He will be critical in their run for state. [player_tooltip player_id='2135864' first='Oliver' last='D. Wallace'] will play a key role in the Tigers' playoff run. He makes timely shots and runs the offense pretty well for them. BA has some of the best role players in the state, and with good bench production added in, the Tigers look poised to make their fourth consecutive state tournament appearance this year.
