Billingsley helped Norman to a state title and 54-52 victory in Class 6A over Mustang. Billingsley was arguably the most clutch player in the state this postseason. Both his passing and scoring were key to the success of the Timberwolves. The senior is headed to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi this fall and looks to continue to develop his skills at the college level. The 6’2 guard is not only a tremendous scorer but has shown to routinely make the right basketball play and trust his teammates. His game-winning assist in the title game proved to be the difference.

Billingsley authored one of the best individual State Tournament runs of the last decade. Ending it with the game winning assist in the final seconds of the Class 6A State Title game. His fingerprints were all over the late game wins, literally. As long along with the game winning dime in the title game, he made clutch steals in the quaretfinals and semifinals. On Wednesday it was giving Norman life with a late game steal that sparked a miraculous comeback and eventual overtime win. On Thursday it was the game clinching steal to ice the victory. It was a great ending to a storied career. Billingsley has been a four year contributor for the Tigers. And over the last two years, he’s steadily added steel and leadership to his flashy play. Which equalled Gold for the Tigers.

was the best player on day one of the 6A quarterfinals by a long shot. Beau willed his team to an overtime win against a really good Union team. He controlled the game from top to bottom—if you watched the game, you knew the D1 commit was the best player on the floor. The senior guard finished with 26 points, 7 assists, and 3 steals. He had a great game from top to bottom. I watched Beau score from all three levels, and he made the right decisions every time, willing his team to an overtime win to advance to the semifinals to face a top-tier Owasso team.

For the longest time in the contest, it was Billingsley who had Norman on his back keeping them narrowly ahead, or close. Then with the clock ticking down on the game and his career, he dug deep and forced a steal. He went for the tie and narrowly missed, but a teammate was there to clean it up, eventually leading to an extra four minutes. The extra frame was all Tigers and Billingsley put a capper on a hot start with an fantastic And 1 finish. He’s been a four year contributor and a face of the Tigers for the last two years now. His 26 points, 7 assists and 3 steals also means he’s suit as a Tiger at least one more time.

was too much to overcome. Beau had a stretch in that one, in which he scored 10 straight points and blew the game wide open. Look for the tigers to continue to trust him in high ball screen actions, allowing him to read the defense and create shot opportunities. As a passer, he continues to make extra efforts in moving the ball when defenders collapse on him. This will be key if Norman wants to win the area title.

Billingsley was a closer on Saturday night. Hunted mismatches and played wonderfully out of ball screens. Can either knife all the way to the rim, or stop and hit advance mid-range pull up and turnarounds. The icing on the cake of his game as usual was his perimeter shooting. As big threes in the second half helped lead the comeback and then cap it off.

After a quiet by his high standards first half, Billingsley was the driving engine for Norman in the final 16. It started on the defensive end, with good reading off situations to jump passing lanes, then race for easy points. Kept scoring tough bucket after bucket with his shifty driving style to the rim. Usually is a quality creator, but let his scoring dictate his impact on Tuesday.

“When flash meets production” is the best way to describe how Billingsley game has taken off over the last year. He’ll still making jaw dropping plays with his handles and vision. And now he’s a better decision maker and stronger scorer. The college coaches have continued to notice. As following 3SSB play, he has new offers from American and Florida Gulf Coast. They join previous offers from ORU and Texas State.

Norman was rolling for much of the week and Billingsley made it look easy at the controls. It’s likely safe to say he’s the best passer in the state. Has already made exciting passes, but now does it more accurately and process the floor very quickly. From no look dimes in transition, touch passes in the halfcourt and more. The maturity to his game and the control he now plays with really elevates his long term potential as a lead guard. His consistent jump shooting and good finishing at the rim, always seems to get the roll, make him one of the best players in Oklahoma.

Billingsley separated himself from other floor generals with his exceptional feel for the game and natural basketball instincts. He consistently made heady plays, reading situations before they developed. His passing ability was particularly remarkable — Billingsley threw teammates open, delivering the ball where only they could catch and convert. His precise timing and touch made him a reliable offensive conductor, consistently putting his teammates in positions to succeed.
