Expert Analysis
Sam Duren | Prep Hoops Scout
After living off the dribble and the line with back to back strong games, Anderson found his three ball on Wedneday. Started off strongly and went for 28 points to conclude his hot month of December. He’s one of the craftier scorers in the state. Great body control takes, hanging in the air and contorting for a split second to score against contested looks. Or slipping his way all the way to the rim. To go along with the scoring, he started very active and smart on the defensive. Jumping a backdoor pass for a steal and more disruptive play. Great all around improvements by Anderson to close out a strong month.

Anderson has been on a tear since this spring and it continued at the camp. Caught a body in transition for the highlight reel. Then was an efficient scorer throughout. Is one of the top off the dribble shooters in Oklahoma, he’s efficient with his handles and jab steps to create space to shoot from deep. If he’s given an inch of daylight, he will pull and likely hit. Similarly smooth off the dribble. Set for a potentially monstrous senior season.

In this case, it’s a wonder what a healthy stretch can do for a prospect. What was expected to be a breakout junior campaign for Anderson was hampered by a couple different injuries. He found his footing with Choctaw in June, then reached a new level with Southern Assault Texoma in July. Has a good blend of toughness and fancy finishing abilities on drives to the rim. Remains a strong shooter from the perimeter, the same as it has been since he entered high school. Matches his offensive impact with good defensive intensity. A healthy senior season for Anderson will be a game changer for the Yellowjackets.

Injuries stopped Anderson from finding a rhythm during his junior campaign for Choctaw. But a healthy Anderson was impressive during June camps, then took his game to the next level last weekend in KC. He looked the part of a complete scorer with Southern Assault Texoma. Good body control, with the strength to take contact and the hangtime to get off shots in traffic. And as has often been throughout his high school career, he’s a lights out shooter from deep. With momentum on his side, Anderson has picked up an offer from University of Saint Mary’s. A NAIA program in the KC area.

Another junior who clearly made the jump from an athletic standpoint. Anderson exploded for a rim protecting block at one point on Saturday in BA, then nearly put a big on a poster. Along with his exciting transition play, Anderson is developing quite a bag that’s making him dangerous as an off the dribble scorer in the halfcourt. Not so quietly is maturing into one of the better scorers in 2026, as a big part of Choctaw’s exciting junior core.

It was no surprise to see the Titan sharpshooter routinely knocking down shots in the mid-range and from beyond the arc. He’s fresh off a strong end to his sophomore season for one of the best high school programs in Oklahoma City. But to go along with his proficient shooting, were signs of his physical maturity leading to a bigger overall impact. He’s pushing it strongly and quickly in transition, with signs that he could become a slippery type slasher. Even little things like athletically high pointing defensive rebounds are good signs when it comes to forecasting a potential junior year leap for Anderson. The Class of 2026 is DEEP in Oklahoma and this Carl Albert Titan is further proof of that.

Another sophomore looking for a huge jump in production, Anderson is becoming a complete guard that should be one of the most efficient shooters in the Class of 2026. In viewings this summer, Anderson was often locked in from distance while also being able to hit in the mid-range and signs of a full scoring package. His perimeter shooter could be crucial in helping to space the floor for the big and athletic Titans.

The second half of the strong 2026 foundation that will likely help keep Carl Albert among the best programs in 5A, Anderson and Hopkins should form a dynamic one-two punch for the upcoming seasons. Anderson is a quality on the ball scorer, with some “wiggle” when getting to his spots in the mid-range. He plays at his own pace, and has the look of being an outstanding shooter from beyond the arc. With what appears to be a cool and in control demeanor as a scorer, Anderson could be the perfect cool compliment to Hopkins’ fiery athleticism.
