Pogi is the first commitment for Oklahoma State in their 2027 class. Having already made a decision, Tyson should have some comfort and peace of mind as he heads into his senior season at Southmoore. Tyson and his teammates had a gauntlet for a schedule this past season and the junior should be able to draw from a lot of those experiences. With five 30+ point games for the SaberCats this season, look for Pogi to continue to elevate his play with more clutch shot-making as he is an elite offensive player.

Pogi played very stiff competition throughout the season. Against arguably the toughest conference in the state, Pogi excelled as a consistent scoring threat and lead his team to the state tournament. Pogi will enter his senior season as a back-to-back district offensive player of the year as well in 6A. The junior had five 30+ point games and is an excellent finisher around the paint. Pogi has a hesitation dribble that allows him to regularly get past defenders and put pressure on the defense. His ability to elevate for both his floater and mid-range jumper were seemingly on display every night this season. He is a clutch shot maker and will look to lead the SaberCats to a state title next season.

After a slow start as the center of attention on defense, Pogi did catch fire from deep to provide a bit of show. His ability to pull up off the dribble and often from well beyond the arc makes him a must watch prospect. Finished with 20 points after a fourth quarter flurry.
While a bitter ending to the season, riding the roller coaster of the season and reaching State is a very good accomplishment. Now the focus on Pogi will turn to a pivotal 17U year against national level competition.

The two game Area numbers for Pogi are as always impressive, with averages of 31 points, 5 assists and 4.5 rebounds from those two games. He’s a complete scorer with likely the best all around bag of dribble moves and shooting ability in the state. The scoring production is rightfully what draws the attention. And makes him a nationally regarded recruit. But it wasn’t a score by Pogi that punched the Sabercats’ ticket to state.
After a pair of Choctaw free throws put Southmoore down one in the final minute, Pogi went to work. He dribbled around a double team, drew in help defenders and made the winning pass to his teammate Chaves at the rim. That’s the type of smart winning play that will help the junior separate from other elite scorers.

Pogi can make the game look easy on the offensive end. With the up-and-down play from the Sabercats, his ability to score efficiently against Mustang will be a massive key to victory. Look for Pogi to also continue to build on his high assist numbers coming out of regional play. With the amount of bodies that the Broncos will be able to throw at him, the junior will have to continue to play under control and limit turnovers if his team is going to advance to state.

Pogi didn’t have to get out of cruise control in the Sabercart’s opening playoff win. Made an early effort to get teammates involved. Would attack on the bounce, then stop and whp out big time passes to open teammates. Liked seeing the trust he displayd in empowering them early. Scoring wise picked out some spots to break out his advance scoring moves. Including a 25 footer in the second quarter. A mini flurry in the third quarter. It was a good controlled showing, proving how good he is. The challenge only ramps up going forward. With these next few months being pivotal for Pogi with the playoffs and this spring with national level AAU play.

could easily be Gatorade Player of the Year. His stats this season have been insane. The Sabercat has had multiple 30 point outings, along with an impressive 47 point game.
Pogi is averaging 27.7 PPG, 6.3 RPG, and 4.1 APG. He is shooting 50.6% from the field and 41.5% from deep. He is also Southmoore’s all-time leading scorer, sitting at 1,500-plus points, and he’s on pace to reach 2,000 points in 6A basketball. A rare feat
Tyson is a very efficient scorer who plays the game at his own pace. He never gets rattled, makes tough shots, and is still able to get his teammates involved. His statistics and the impact he has on the game speak volumes and show why he is a top candidate for Gatorade Player of the Year.

Tyson is known for his scoring ability and shifty handles, but what really stands out is how effortlessly he shoots the three ball—well beyond college range. Pogi has limitless range, and with that level of three-point shooting in his arsenal, it makes scoring much easier for him. Over his last five games, he’s averaging around 30 points per game, including an impressive 47-point performance in a win over Deer Creek.

Another career high for the walking bucket. Pogi went for 47 points in a win over Sand Springs. Over the last five games, he’s averaging 33 points. While also grabbing his fair share of rebounds. When watching Pogi last month, it was notable his ability to quickly generate points off defensive rebounds. Which is vital with the defensive focus on him. One of the purest shooters in Oklahoma since his freshman year, and he has developed the all around scoring skillset to match.

In the loss it was a career high 44 points for Pogi. With the Sabercats chasing all game, it was on the junior to keep finding ways to score. He got to the rim at will, but for a player of his high standards he could’ve finished better. Yes, it’s a tall order to say a player should’ve hit 50, but that was in the range of outcomes for the Sabercat.
There was one moment where it actually felt like he took over. When they went down 10 in the fourth, he scored 7 straight. Was decisive getting to the rim and hit a nasty pull up three in between those drives. For his progression to continue, those are the type of moments Pogi will need to extend. The target is on his back but the skillset is there for Pogi to continue to produce even while targeted by the opposition.
