If Southmoore is to make a run to shake up Class 6A during the playoffs, Gregory will have to be a key figure. There were promising signs, especially as a creator. Drives off the baseline and can slip passes to teammates at the rim, or find open shooters. Had another good moment when he caught a pass while rolling, the quickly found an open teammate at the rim. Is a good athlete, and has flashes of playing to that athleticism. In the game against Union, he came close on a putback dunk attempt. But against Lawton Eisenhower, he needed to be stronger when rebounding the ball. The pieces are there for Gregory to step up and be a down the stretch difference maker, it’s just up him to turn the light on.

Gregory seems to have a blueprint to having a better junior season. Hit open threes along the perimeter and get to his spots against close outs with 1-3 dribbles for pull ups. And then lock in on the defensive end. Showed promise as a shot blocker in the openness of the camp setting. If those moments were signs of him buying in to working harder on the defensive end, Gregory will be a much improved player this winter.

There’s a lot to like about the potential of the young wing prospect. He was comfortable as a spot up threat, and routinely made the defense pay when he was left open. Gregory is also dangerous as a driver, capable of attacking open lanes and using his size to finish even against taller players. It was also an added bonus that he often made the right pass and didn’t stop the ball too often. The upside is there and the flashes of becoming a dynamic scorer are evident for the youngster. But at times his game can feel too casual, becoming more consistently aggressive will be key for him earn minutes as he makes the jump from small town basketball to Class 6A. Once he does, Gregory has the talent to makes waves this winter and beyond.

Gregory is an high upside small town prospect. Already tall and with the look of a player who should develop into an explosive athlete. He’ll need a more consistent motor but the talent is there, and he forms a strong 2027 duo for Dickson.
