Expert Analysis
Daniel Siehndel | Prep Hoops Scout
There’s no doubt Keaton is one of the more sought-after names in the 2028 class, and it didn’t take long on Saturday to see why. His size and athleticism immediately stood out as he lived in transition and consistently operated in the open floor throughout the day. With his ability to get downhill with pace and finish at the rim — especially going to his left hand — he was tough for defenders to contain. Even at full speed, he played under control, showing a strong command and feel for the game as he read the floor and made the right basketball play. His shooting also made an impression, as he connected from the perimeter both off the catch and by creating space off the dribble. Not to be overlooked, he showed he’s a legitimate two-way player. On the defensive end, he was constantly around the ball, creating turnovers, getting deflections, and closing off driving angles.

One of the higher ceiling prospects in any grade in Oklahoma, Murry is starting a pivotal 16U summer with powerhouse program MoKan. In the game streamed, the flashes of his talent jumped off the screen. He’s come into his own as an athlete, making it look easy with gliding movements in transition and attacking the rim. Has great hangtime and fluidness around the rim, allowing him to adjust in mid-air in traffic. Shoots it cleanly and with ease. The upside is there for him to play at the highest levels of college basketball, now is the team for him to put the flashes together into consistent, loud success.

was a big factor in the win for PC North versus Piedmont. Murry was a huge threat attacking downhill. He excelled in isolation and made huge buckets late in the fourth quarter to seal the deal against Piedmont. Keaton ended the game with 9 points and 3 rebounds. While it was a low-scoring game for both teams, he made shots when it counted. He proved why he is already a highly sought-after Division I recruit, holding offers from Missouri and TCU. If Keaton can keep performing at a high level he could possibly lead the Panthers to a win over a dangerous Mustang Broncos team.

Murry with an offer from Missouri passes the eye test as a future high major prospect. Good size, good athleticism as he’s becoming twitchier and more explosive. Has hit the the personal production at times this year that match his high potential. But playing on a balanced team and deep team has somewhat muted his numbers. He still has put up impressive moments, especially with his versatile finishing package around the rim. The Panther is so tough to stop off the bounce because of the improving twitchiness, along with the hang time and creative finishing to always get good looks off. Love his potential as a defender too and the moments of playmaking too. The stretch run for a potential Gold Ball and his 16U summer with MoKan will give him ample opportunities to elevate his play in huge moments.

There’s these little moments when watching Murry that make it clear why he already has high major offers. Against BA, it was subtle but quick off the ball movements to flare out wide open to the three point or get to the rim. He has quick twitch ability that makes him a handful for defenders. Add in his shooting and it’s easy to see why Murry is one of the best sophomores among a talented Oklahoma bunch. The Panthers are now 3-0 in District and 9-1 against a gauntlet of a schedule.

Fresh off a big offer from Missouri, Murry was a second half standout. He got it going with back to back threes in the third, which pulled the Panthers ahead. Then added another late in the third for good measure to extend the lead to the five. Down the stretch, he was money from the free throw line. Murry has the potential to be the top sophomore in Oklahoma and his shooting ability at his size and athleticism is a big reason why.

Murry is ready to vault himself into the conversation as the top sophomore in Oklahoma. He’s continuing to grow, while also becoming a bouncy guard. Starting to finish above the rim with explosiveness. In seemingly all aspects of the game, he made it looks easy while blending that athleticism with a silky handle to get wherever he wanted on Saturday. Can dance with the ball, but also knows when to stop playing with his food and being decisive. He seemingly glides when getting downhill.
The PCN Panther was impressive in spurts as a freshman and is now ready to become a primary option. If he succeeds this winter, the college offers should start flooding in.

At the national level, it’s difficult to be in double figures four straights days. Murry did just that with a high of 18 points and averaging 14.3 points for this past weekend. He’s a key part of a MOKAN team that went 9-3 for the EYB regular season. Even in what appears to be a deep Class of 2028, the PCN guard appears to be undervalued. As he’s another guard with clear pathways to the D1 level with his shooting ability and rapidly improving all around game.

One of Oklahoma’s most promising 2028s filled up the stat sheet at the 15U level. With 12 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Murry has a silky shot, and appears to be coming fully into his own as an all around guard. Setting the stage for him to potentially to be one of the better guards in not only in the Class of 2028 but all of Oklahoma as a sophomore for an exciting PCN team.

Running with MoKan, the Putnam City North guard closed out the live period with 17 points vs Expressions. He also handed out 4 dimes vs Mac Irvin, all while receiving extensive run against some of the best 2028s in the country. Murry flashed a lot as a freshman, fitting into a senior laden team. With promising shooting and indicators he should evolve into a dynamic complete scorer. A spring and summer against national competition is an ideal stage setter for a bigger role and breakout sophomore campaign.
