4A Section 2: Prospects Update

<p>Minnesota class 4A boys Section 2 consist of Chanhassen, Chaska, Shakopee, Eden Prairie, Minnetonka, Prior Lake, and Eden Prairie. Broken down below is prospects from each school, school by school. </p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Chanhassen</h2>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1560782' first='Kolby' last='Christl'] - Christl is a six-foot-six-inch wing for Chanhassen that is scoring 23 points per game for The Storm. Christl has the ability to shoot from the perimeter and is athletic enough to finish above the rim in transition. Christl does well to jump passes above the break and he does well to take it all the way and finish. Christl has put together some really complete games for Chan, like 31 point, 7 rebound, 3 assist and 4 steal game versus Rochester John Marshall. Against Lakeville North he scored 28 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, had 5 assists, and a steal.</p>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2140561' first='Benett' last='Barger'] - Barger is a six-foot-five-inch 2027 wing from Chanhassen that is averaging 17.9 points per game and 9.8 rebounds. Offensively Barger does just about everything well, and has the ability to score at the rim, in the mid-range, and beyond the arc. As a passer he moves the ball and gives good effort on the glass.</p>    <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2560476' first='Isaac' last='Johnson'] - Johnson is a six-foot-five-inch 2028 forward for The Storm that is averaging 11.4 points per game. Johnson is a good athlete and runs the floor well who can finish above the rim. Johnson is a solid off-ball help defender, and has the ability to stretch the floor.</p>    <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2848268' first='Dylan' last='Barker'] - Barker is a six-foot-five-inch 2029 freshman who is playing JV to keep an eye on the Storm.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Chaska</h2>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2126118' first='Tyler' last='Forrest'] - The six-foot-three-inch 2027 point guard has the Hawks at 9-4 and scoring 18.6 points per game showing a bit of growth as a scorer as he's increased his PPG by 8 points a game. Forrest is responsible for running and setting the offense and is the lead creator averaging 5.4 assists and contributes with about everything on the floor by grabbing 4.8 rebounds nightly, has 24 steals and 11 blocks so far. Jochum has the ability to shoot from the perimeter but as a player he generally sticks to what works, attacking the basket in transition and getting close to the basket and making close range shots. Jochum is a solid athlete and is a solid baseball prospect.</p>    <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2113031' first='Eli' last='Herzog'] - The six-foot 2027 guard from Chaska Herzog is averaging 9.5 points per game and making 35.7% from 3 so far. Herzog has made at least two 3-pointers 8 times this season already and against Anoka knocked down 7 when he scored 24 points for the Hawks. </p>    <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2839785' first='Evan' last='Atkinson'] - Atkinson is a six-foot-five-inch 2026 senior who is averaging 9.4 points per game for Chaska. Against New Prague Atkinson scored 20 points while he secured 4 steals in a game Chaska won 82-56. Atkinson is a solid player for Chaska as a ball mover, good team defender, and can at times kick up the scoring.</p>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2561052' first='Chase' last='Maetzold'] - Maetzold is a six-foot-seven-inch 2028 forward for Chaska that is averaging 7 points per game and 5.1 rebounds. Maetzold can stretch the floor and shoot from the perimeter, and does well to stay active defensively. </p>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2841981' first='Jed' last='Keenan'] - Keenan is a six-foot-five-inch 2029 wing from Chaska that is averaging 8.2 points per game and has made 23 of 50 from beyond the arc for 46% so far. Keenan is a highly efficient shooter while also being a good decision maker and great extra pass player. </p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Eden Prairie</h2>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1560851' first='Hamze' last='Yusuf'] - The six-foot-one-inch 2026 senior guard from Eden Prairie Yusuf has kicked his scoring per game average from 18 a game to 25.1 so far.  In a recent win over Hopkins the speedy and quick guard scored 28 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Off the dribble Yusuf has a good first step in the half-court and in transition his speed gives him an extra advantage. Fahning is a consistent perimeter shooter (35% last season), works on defense and can guard a bit on the perimeter, and a player who averaged a double double last season (15.7 ppg 12 rpg). </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/Mentality_Shift/status/1996254102024511993 </div></figure>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2137323' first='Carter' last='Pulrang'] - Pulrang is a six-foot-one-inch combo guard for the Eagles that is averaging 14 points per game. Pulrang is a good perimeter shooter and has numerous games of multiple made 3-pointers. Davis is a super athlete who has finished multiple drives and breakaways with impressive dunks. Davis is a solid ball handler and so far has shown to be a solid secondary ball handler as a combo guard. Flesch is a good perimeter shooting left-handed guard. Flesch gets out in transition well, solid passer, and should grow into a solid secondary ball handler and creator within an offense.</p>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2862314' first='Marshawn' last='Gray'] - Gray is a 2030 8th grader on JV for Eden Prairie and is a player to watch.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Minnetonka</h2>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2121339' first='Anthony' last='Ortiz'] - The 2026 senior guard for the Skippers is averaging 21 points per game. The six-foot-three-inch combo guard has been consistent putting pressure on defenses driving to the basket and drawing contact, one game he even shot 15 free throws. Ortiz a combo guard has ability to hit shots and at times has some high volume games like versus Chanhassen when he scored 37 points.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/anthony_ortiz26/status/2008525095724347819 </div></figure>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2560540' first='Willie' last='Wright Jr'] - Wright is a five-foot-ten-inch 2028 quick, speedy point guard for the Skippers that is averaging 10.7 points per game. Wright has a good shooting motion and can hit shots in bunches off the dribble.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/FreshCoastHoops/status/1981392341698285574 </div></figure>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2853260' first='Beckham' last='Nelson'] - Nelson is a six-foot-one-inch 2029 guard for the Skippers that I got to see up close a number of times playing for Hoop Habits 14U team. Nelson displayed strong ability with and without the ball showcasing he can be a lead ball handler/creator and secondary. The Minnetonka guard is averaging 8.7 points per game and versus Waconia recently scored 13 points while grabbing 3 rebounds, and handing out 4 assists. Against STMA Nelson scored 20 points and had 4 steals.</p>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2842170' first='Elliott' last='Thompson'] - Thompson is a five-foot-eleven-inch 2029 guard for the Skippers averaging 6.6 points per game. Thompson's best ability I've seen from him over the last two years is a knack for getting people open with his handle and making the right and accurate passes. Thompson who hit 3-pointers versus Eden Prairie in January looks to have really sped-up his jump shot from last summer.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Prior Lake</h2>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2126466' first='Kobby' last='Sambrew'] - Sambrew is a 2027 six-foot-four-inch forward from Prior Lake that is averaging 12,2 points per game. Sambrew showed improvement this summer as a ball handler and on the perimeter to go with his what seems to be unlimited motor on the defensive side of the ball and the offensive glass. Sambrew has good length with his reach making him a versatile defender than at times can guard up positions.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/streethistory/status/1936444734928503041 </div></figure>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2433515' first='Kolby' last='Thompson'] - Thompson is a five-foot-eleven-inch 2027 guard for the Lakers that is averaging 15.5 points per game. You can find Thompson this summer playing with Hoop Habits. Thompson is a good spot-up shooter that can supplement that with off-dribble the dribble scoring. Jenpa who played with MN Powerhouse on the Prep Hoops Circuit can shoot from the perimeter and is an ok athlete. The Hoop Habits guard is shooting a super 41.8% from 3 on high-volume. Versus the highest division competition in Minnesota and every night every team knows Schroeder will have the ball he's shown he can consistently get to his spots and make shots.</p>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2126468' first='Blake' last='Betton'] - Betton is a 2027 six-foot-two-inch wing that is averaging 9.9 points per game. Betton is a good defender on the wing and can help around the basket with his strength and size. Betton is rated as a 3-star football prospect that has 19 Division One offers.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Waconia</h2>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1560741' first='Will' last='Kirsch'] - Kirsch is a six-foot-one-inch 2026 senior who is leading Waconia currently at 10-4. Kirsch is scoring over 26 points per game with 29 versus Minnetonka, 39 versus Shakopee opening night a great comeback win, and  29 points versus St. Louis Park.
