There are times Carter gets caught trying to do a bit too much on the ball, but when he’s dialed in he can turn a game around in a hurry. He did that on Sunday afternoon against Totino-Grace as he brought EP back into the game in the second half. Carter has deep range beyond the arc, and isn’t afraid to pull-up from NBA range if you leave him in space. Carter showed that shooting touch combined with the change of speed on the ball that saw him put up bucket after bucket to get his team back into the game. He added in a couple of flashy passes that set his forwards up with good looks at the rim
I’ve seen Carter excel as a scorer in the past, and he still did on Sunday, but it was his improvements as a facilitator that really stood out. Carter is a creative ball handler who can get into dangerous areas while keeping his eyes scanning the floor. Against Minnetonka he was able to beat his initial defender and either score on his own, or quickly locate an open man if a help-side defender stepped up on him. Showed some flair with two behind the back passes leading to buckets for his team. Don’t be surprised to see him breakout this winter as a junior.
