Section 2AAAA: 26-27 First Look

What is our early thoughts on 2AAAA overall and where does this really talented group fit power rankings wise?</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Section Power Rankings</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:list {"ordered":true} --> <ol class="wp-block-list"><!-- wp:list-item --> <li>Chaska - When you win a state title and return your top five scorers….. You then have the pressure of being the team expected to win it again.&nbsp; Are those expectations realistic?&nbsp; Not sure what the answer is there but I can tell you they have a great shot at winning the title again.</li> <!-- /wp:list-item --> <!-- wp:list-item --> <li>Prior Lake - With their top two players returning, good size, and a good group of up and coming guards Prior Lake has a chance to have a special season. Should have the best frontcourt in the section when it comes to physical and productive play.&nbsp;</li> <!-- /wp:list-item --> <!-- wp:list-item --> <li>Eden Prairie - won 18 games last season and I think they have the potential to win 18 again (or more) if they have the ball handler coming up in the system to get the job done.&nbsp; I think Davis is going to take a huge step forward.&nbsp;</li> <!-- /wp:list-item --> <!-- wp:list-item --> <li>Minnetonka - Tonka went young last year and I think they were better than people expected.&nbsp; I think they can flip that 11-16 record around at the least with so many good guards more mature.&nbsp;</li> <!-- /wp:list-item --> <!-- wp:list-item --> <li>Shakopee - This is a tough team to predict.&nbsp; They have their top three scores back but they only won seven games last season.&nbsp; They surely should double that win total at least but then again what was the issue last year?&nbsp; Tough to predict.&nbsp;</li> <!-- /wp:list-item --> <!-- wp:list-item --> <li>Chanhassen - What do they have at guard?&nbsp; They have a very good frontcourt with Barger and Johnson but the backcourt graduated so the JV has to fill in the gaps in the backcourt to win 16 games again.&nbsp;</li> <!-- /wp:list-item --> <!-- wp:list-item --> <li>Waconia - The Cats won more games last year than expected as they played better team basketball than expected (well coached). Can they surprise again?&nbsp; There are some good senior guards here but talent wise they will be looked down on comparatively.<br></li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ol> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Preseason All Section 2AAAA</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>First Team</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2126118' first='Tyler' last='Forrest'] of Chaska (Sr). Is he the best all around lead guard in the senior class? If I am a local D1 I am calling. He's the shooter you need. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2126466' first='Kobby' last='Sambrew'] of Prior Lake (Sr). What a warrior. Scored 17 a game last year, it's his team now so let's see what Barger can do.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Second team</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2433515' first='Kolby' last='Thompson'] of Prior Lake (Sr).
