Luke is running with Minnesota Exposure this weekend and continues to show more of his overall offensive game. He has always been a sniper from the perimeter, connecting on several deep looks from three. He also looked good putting the ball on the floor and getting inside where he absorbed contact for tough finishes. Schroeder has picked up offers from a handful of Division 2 schools and it is easy to see why, as he brings so much to the table as a scorer and creator.

There simply aren’t many players on Luke’s level when it comes to who the best shooter in Minnesota is. If he catches in space, you just assume it’s going in, because Luke rarely misses open jumpers. The real problem happens when he starts hitting contested shots too, and that’s what happened yesterday against Martin Brothers. Luke got hot in the first half, draining an and-one three, a couple off the catch, and another off a shot-fake into a one dribble pull-up. Add in a couple of strong and-one finishes at the rim, and it was a big showing from Luke.

Luke proved exactly why he is ranked as one of the top uncommitted prospects in Minnesota’s junior class. The 6’3” guard is arguably the best shooter in the state and was automatic on catch-and-shoot threes. He can get shots off so quickly and needs a hand in his face at all times. He also used that to his advantage a lot, giving a shot fake and driving to the basket, where he showed off some touch around the rim.

Lakeville South did a great job of limiting Luke’s touches throughout the game, but he still showcased that shooting touch that makes him so dangerous. Luke hit a pair of threes, knocked down a tough pull-up jumper from mid-range, and got to the rim for a handful of finishes on his way to 22 points. Luke has always been a great three point shooter, but one thing that stuck out last night was the improved elevation he’s getting on his jumper. Particularly on that mid-range shot we saw Luke get to his spot and rise up to shoot over length.
