Jamir has had a great weekend with D1 Minnesota , impacting the game in many positive ways. He looks to have improved a lot since his productive sophomore season at Eden Prairie. He is an excellent athlete and is able to defend at a high level and make athletic finishes around the rim. Davis impressed me with his shooting as well, looking for his shots and creating for others, being a playmaker with the ball in his hands.

Jamir continues to show improvements in his perimeter game for D1 Minnesota . He’s always excelled as a slasher with his quick burst and explosiveness around the rim, and he certainly showed that last night, but he continues to improve as a shooter as well. Jamir is showing more confidence in his outside shot, not hesitating for a second when allowed to catch in space from three. Defensively he has great instincts to jump passing lanes for steals, and was able to showcase his bounce with a pair of dunks last night in a win over Wisconsin Academy .

Jamir was a spark off the bench all weekend long for D1 Minnesota 16u. Playing up at the 17u level, he impressed with his ability to check into the game and instantly make an impact. He’s a high flying athlete who can slash to the rim for two points, but looks to be developing into a consistent three point shooter as well. He’s perhaps at his best on the defensive end though where he can pressure guards on the ball, and has good instincts to jump passes and pick up steals in bulk. Jamir helped lead his team to a 4-0 record.

I had seen Jamir in camp settings and with a D1 Minnesota team where he was sharing the ball with a lot of talented teammates, but this was my first time seeing him with Eden Prairie where he’ll look to have a big role as a sophomore. Against a scrappy St. Paul Johnson defense Jamir was having success slashing to the rim from the wing, as well as using his speed to break the press and get open looks at the rim. Davis showcased his bounce in the open floor with a dunk as well as some acrobatic finishes through contact. I was also impressed with his comfort to take and make a handful of threes off the catch.

D1 Minnesota 3SSB 2028 had a lot of prospects that were capable of playing point guard and bringing the ball up, and Davis was one of them. In three games of scoring he had 15, 10, and 10, for a 11.7 avg. hit 3 threes, 2 threes, and another game with 2 threes. One of the top and more consistent shooters in the tournament. Has a solid frame that he uses to power to the hoop. A strong defender that is always pressuring the ball or anticipating the offensive player’s next move. I thought he was one of the most well-rounded guards.
