About Trey
Expert Analysis
Max Wagner | Prep Hoops Scout
Trey just finds ways to produce every time he steps on the floor, and this past weekend helped lead Prior Lake to wins over Orono and Hopkins in fall league action. He showed impressive footwork on the block at times, including a nice up-and-under move in the first half against Orono. Trey always finds a body to box out, sets hard screens to free up his guards, and secures rebounds with two hands in traffic. You won’t find many bigs who work harder than Trey does, as he never takes a possession off on either end of the floor.

As the summer went on Trey showed all the pieces to his game, he put them together and it landed him a spot at Minot State. Trey is a great passer around the perimeter and high post, he boards, he defends, Trey will hit a three or two, and Theis scores in the paint in active ways. When Theis puts everything together in a steady way he is a very consistent player.

Trey had a great showing at both the Great Plains Alliance and then 2K26 and he did it in front of the Minot State staff watching regularly. After seeing Theis score four/five times a game, hit the three when he had a chance, defend hard and rebound in good numbers, Minot State had Trey on campus and he committed.

Trey put his versatility on display early in the morning against MN Rise . At 6’7 he showed he can go to work out of the block, stretch the floor from three, or drop dimes out of the high post. Composed player who doesn’t force his game and sees the floor well. Even on days where Trey doesn’t put up eye catching scoring numbers, you can count on him to compete on the defensive end, make smart passes, and crash the glass hard on both ends of the floor.
