If I had to name an overall MVP from week 2, it would be Grant Hansen Grant Hansen 6'2" | CG Orono | 2027 State MN . He came out firing from the opening tip, leading Orono to wins over Hopkins and Anoka in their two games. There were periods were Grant simply wasn’t missing, as his heat checks saw him approach the half-court logo, including a three point make from just inside the half-court line against Hopkins. He’s expanded his game to be much more than just a shooter though, as he was active cutting off the ball leading to some easy looks at the basket. Showed more explosiveness than I knew he had as he nearly threw down a dunk right over a defender in transition. He could be in for some big scoring performances this winter.

Grant had a fantastic 17u season. Mostly he showed his toughness and his grit as a competitor, and showed it to a level that few players can reach. He also scored/shot the ball at a high level and easily made D2 schools think about partials, NAIA schools have him on their board, and D3 schools would love to have him.

Northwestern College, Dordt University in Iowa, Dakota Wesleyan University, and D3 Belhaven. Hansen showcased himself being able to be the lead guard on a talented Minnesota Fury Zurn team and helped lead them to a lot of wins. Hansen is also a good outside shooter with unlimited shooting range.

Grant was key in building a lead in the 17U championship game for Minnesota Fury Zurn. He is an elite shooter and was taking advantage of any open space from the perimeter. He drilled a pair of triples early in the game and also converted on a couple shots inside the arc. Hansen had a standout 17U season and should be in for a breakout senior season at Orono.
