If I had to name an overall MVP from week 2, it would be [player_tooltip player_id='2424180' first='Grant' last='Hansen']. He came out firing from the opening tip, leading Orono to wins over Hopkins and Anoka in their two games. There were periods were Grant simply wasn't missing, as his heat checks saw him approach the half-court logo, including a three point make from just inside the half-court line against Hopkins. He's expanded his game to be much more than just a shooter though, as he was active cutting off the ball leading to some easy looks at the basket. Showed more explosiveness than I knew he had as he nearly threw down a dunk right over a defender in transition. He could be in for some big scoring performances this winter.

Minnetonka has a ton of young talent this year, with Willie stepping into the role of one of his team's leaders now as a junior. I watched the Skippers take on Anoka, where Willie showcased a lethal pull-up jumper as he led his team to a win. It didn't matter if it was from three or from around the elbow, if his man dropped off Willie was going to elevate for a jumper. Off the dribble he does a great job of quickly squaring up and getting off his shot, leaving his defender no time to react and get a good contest. When Willie's shot is falling like it was on Sunday, there's not much you can do to stop him.

In the most entertaining game of the day Park Center faced off against Richfield. There were some big performances on both ends, but the steady play of Tchidi helped PC come away with the win. He's so versatile defensively because of his size, strength, and lateral agility, allowing him to guard just about any spot on the floor at the high school level. He did a nice job of forcing difficult looks when matched up against one of the best slashers in the class. He's at his best defensviely, but showcased a smooth jumper from three that should help him become a reliable 3&D type of player this season as a sophomore.

Holy Angels kept things close with Edina for most of the game, but just didn't have the size/depth to stick around those last few minutes. A big reason they were keeping things close though was the play of [player_tooltip player_id='2140555' first='Arjun' last='Jain'], who scored 13 in just the first half. Though more known for his three point range, it was actually his quickness to get into the lane and finish with touch that made him so productive in this game. Arjun was able to break defenders down off the dribble before finishing high off the glass to score over the top of Edina's size. A nice showing for the Holy Angels guard heading into his senior season.

Though not yet a big scoring threat at the varsity level, with the frontcourt talent around him, Quianny doesn't need to be just yet. Instead, he focuses on facilitating and creating quality looks for his teammates. Christian was getting the ball to his bigs on the block, had some nice pick & roll passes, and was scanning the floor to make smart reads in transition. In the half-court he does a good job of keeping the ball moving so that it never sticks in anyone's hand too long. He was the floor general for Edina in a pair of wins over Prior Lake and Holy Angels.

Hopkins picked up a win over Farmington in their opening game of the day, and the ball pressure of [player_tooltip player_id='2126145' first='Waleed' last='Muhammad'] was a big reason why. Along with Kwa Silikpoh and a couple of others, Waleed and co. were applying constant pressure to the Farmington guards. For the first few minutes of the game they could barely get past half-court without that pressure causing a turnover. Waleed is so quick moving his feet on the ball, and has a motor that never seems to give up on the defensive end of the floor. Offensively he added in a few mid-range makes to go along with a transition dunk in the win.
