Hunter was excellent in the 17U championship game in Indianapolis, leading his team to a comeback win. He caught fire in the first half, going on a run of tough made shots from the perimeter. He also made his presence felt inside defensively, blocking shots and grabbing contested rebounds. Vinkemeier proved why he is ranked as one of the top incoming senior prospects in Minnesota.

Hunter had some big time plays in the 17u championship game for Fury-Goring. You rarely see guys at 6’10 moving with the fluidity that Hunter does, and it allowed him to make plays in the open floor and off the dribble in the half-court. Hunter showcased a quick release from three off the catch, while also hitting a step-back jumper out on the wing. He racked up 4-5 made jumpers in the first half alone showcasing such a quick release on his shot. The Augustana commit continues to showcase his sky-high potential.

Hunter came up huge in overtime in a semi-finals matchup with Northstar Titans . The 6’10 big man hit a stepback three to push his team ahead in the final minute, and from there was cleaning up everything on the glass to secure the victory. In the championship game he would go on to have a huge run in the first half to give his team a big boost of momentum. Hunter showcased a quick release on his three point shot, and did a nice job of keeping his balance when double teamed to either go up and finish or find an open man with a kick-out pass.
