About Olivia

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I take post secondary college courses at Inver Hills Community College in addition to my high school classes. I am a NHS member. This will be my 5th year playing club basketball with Minnesota Fury-So MN Fury. This will be my third year playing club softball with MN Stix. I was a starter this year for Varisty Basketball and lettered in it my 10th grade year. I lettered in academics as well.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am a leader who strives to do their best. I am good at balancing a part time job, volunteering at a food pantry and consignment store, as well as community events when needed. I enjoy playing team sports and prioritize the best options for my team, not just myself. I also try to focus on my individual skills and strengths as well. I do individual basketball trainings, and enjoy a good work out.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

When I was younger there was a time when I did not make the team I was hoping for. I was very sad and frustrated but I kept working hard and found enjoyment with my teammates and coach. The next year I was back on the team I worked hard for. It taught me to not give up, have goals and find the good in each opportunity.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am open minded to playing basketball at a college that offers me a good environment for my mental and physical health. I like being pushed to continue to develop and work on basketball and life skills. I want to make sure it will be a good fit for me to excel in my academics. I would possibly stay in the Midwest but have interest in FL as well.
