Nickle Dickle Notes: Colton Purcell Returns with Success

He competed in the three point contest with some of the elite shooters in the state and Colton didn't just compete, he got to the finals and won the three point contest! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>When you are able to make more threes than guys like Schroeder, Udean, Hagler and [player_tooltip player_id='2433515' first='Kolby' last='Thompson'] - who all made shots - you are doing something at a high level. Maybe the best I have seen Colton shoot it and it's a great start to his senior year. In our recent previews we have been talking a lot about Perham but I don't think we highlighted enough the impact that Sam can make. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Sam was the slam dunk champion as his 6'4 frame has strength and a ton of explosion. He was able to throw down the JR Rider East Bay Funk Dunk among the many dunks he finished at a higher completion rate than others. Jackson was joined by Jax Grover and [player_tooltip player_id='2560508' first='Malachi' last='Feahn'] on their way to the on court championship. He finished in the top three after winning the championship last year and then after shooting the ball at a high level in the three on three competition, Luke then tried his hand at the dunk competition. Unfortunately you could see the legs were tired after a couple dunk attempts but tip of the cap for the effort to try and be in both. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>NICKLE DICKLE NOTES</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The three point shootout second round qualifiers were Purcell, Schroeder, [player_tooltip player_id='2433515' first='Kolby' last='Thompson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2126102' first='Jaeden' last='Udean']. Those four beat out a strong field of nine players that included some of the state's best and then in the finals, Purcell won, Thompson finished second, and Schroeder finished their earning their spots on the banner photo.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2905843' first='Cody' last='Woitel-Anschutz'] of Hopkins had one of the elite dunks of the day when he grabbed the ball out of the hands of a prop person and then reversed dunked while nearly hitting his head on the rim.
