A new senior talent coming to Minnesota, and coming to the backcourt of the state champs, is Donovin Diaz Donovin Diaz 6'4" | CG/SG Minnehaha Academy | 2027 MN . Diaz is a 6’4 guard that can play all three spots in the backcourt and he averaged 18 points and six rebounds a game last season in Fort Meyers, Florida. The top team in Class AA just got a lot better.

Big time shooter out of Fort Myers, Florida that just made the move to Minnesota to attend Minnehaha Academy. Donovin Diaz is a 6’4” sniper that got going early and often at the Indiana State Elite Camp. Excellent off the catch and off the dribble. Showed he understands how to get open and takes what the defense gives him. High release on his pull-up jumper in the midrange and shoots it with a soft touch. Really put an emphasis on the defensive end of the floor where he competed on every possession. Good rebounder that changes ends of the floor and his gravity as a shooter opens up opportunities for teammates.

Diaz can do a little bit of everything, and is an excellent two-way player, who comes over to Naples Classical after a year at ECS. The 6’3″ CG has the ability to guard multiple positions on defense, and also rebounds the ball very well from the guard position. He handles the ball very well, and can create his own shot off the dribble, but is also a very effective catch and shoot player. Diaz moves very well without the ball, and when he gets hot can be deadly from behind the arc

A move-in from Minnesota, Diaz has starred in the early season for Evangelical Christian. Diaz has good size at 6’4 and is a solid shot maker from the perimeter. The junior has a good feel for the game and uses his athleticism to be as asset on the defensive end as well.

Although he is relatively new to the SWFL area, Donovan Diaz has made his presence known through the start of his junior year. Diaz is an effective scorer capable of scoring at all three levels but thrives most from shooting beyond the arc. Donovin has a quick release capable of getting his shot off both off the dribble and in catch-and-shoot scenarios. With his ECS team looking to get on track in December, be on the lookout for Diaz as he gets more comfortable in an ECS uniform.
