About Masen
Expert Analysis
Ryan James | Prep Hoops Scout
Masen is so quick with the basketball that there was really nobody could keep him in front during this fall league game. Most games good teams have help defense to counter a quick smaller player with a lengthy second defender but this is fall league so once Thao burst past player one, he was at the rim for three first half scores. And his rapid pace up the floor forced Chaska to quickly sprint the other way after every possession.

Minnehaha’s top two returning guards were missing, so Masen stepped up to handle the primary ball handling role. He helped take things down to the wire against Chaska in their second game of the day. He’s incredibly shifty on the ball and is fearless attacking the basket and making plays in the paint. Masen showed impressive body control on a number of tough finishes through some contact. There were times he got caught doing too much and ended up turning it over, but he showed flashes that should make him a valuable piece this winter for Minnehaha Academy.
