Carter Cupito – Cupito is a 2030 at or just over six-feet tall that has played up a level every year and this past season was no different for the Minnehaha Academy starting point guard and SMB starting quarterback. Cupito in the summer was offered by the Minnesota Gophers for football and is the top football prospect in Minnesota in the 2030 class and will certainly be ranked in the top 3 in basketball. Cupito is a good perimeter shooter, quick and fast, and super tough guard. Legitimate lead guard and point guard who pushes the ball well and possesses fantastic vision.

I don’t know if it’s fair to call a 14 year old a phenom which is why I likely haven’t done it since Jalen Suggs was playing two sports at a state title level, but that is the best word to describe what Carter is doing right now. A Gopher quarterback offered football player that is a state title guard on the basketball court and was just named Honorable Mention all MADE at 15u. A special young athlete.

Carter Cupito – The 2030 Minnehaha Academy and Sizzle MHC guard was really good Friday afternoon against Wiggins Elite CC in Baltimore at Made Hoops Live. Cuptio scored 25 points and had at least 8 assists. Cupito showed pull-up shooting in the mid-range and beyond the arc hitting two 3-pointers, and driving runners inside 8 feet. Assists came in many forms, running in transition to a streaking teammate, driving a quick dish at the rim to cutting teammate, and a perimeter dart like when he’s quarterbacking on the football field.

Carter Cupito Carter Cupito 6'0" | PG/CG Minnehaha Academy | 2030 MN – The 2030 Minnehaha Academy and Sizzle MHC guard playing in Philadelphia this weekend at the Made Hoops Summer Live Session was fantastic for Sizzle against Uptown Basketball. Cuptio started the game off with 7 points, one play where he jumped a passing lane with his good quickness and anticipation and finished a lay-up with defenders in hot pursuit. Cuptio recently offered by the Minnesota Gophers for football is one of the top 2030 players in Minnesota showed his creation ability with a pocket pass in pick and roll to cutting big for a score and then later pulled similar screen action with a win hitting the teammate with a quick pass around the paint.

Carter, coming off of a state title run with Minnehaha where he made a huge impact, he oftentimes looked like the best player on the floor playing up at the 15U level. His feel, skill, and smoothness is so rare for a middle schooler, as good things happened when he had the ball in his hands. He was flying all over the floor defensively, using those football instincts to intercept passes that lead to easy finishes at the other end. Cupito also showed off some improved bounce and athleticism, being able to throw down with ease.

Carter is coming off of a Class 2A State Championship with Minnehaha and was playing up at the 16U level this past weekend. Another elite point guard in this 2030 class, as he is an elite passer and scorer. He was creating so much offense for his team, showing off his vision, especially when pushing the pace in transition. He was also great in the pick and roll, making the right read just about every time. Cupito is a capable three-level scorer as well.
