Kolby would be up there in the “Breakout Player of the Year” chase for this season, going from 7 ppg as a junior to now averaging 25 ppg as a senior for Chanhassen. Despite picking up three early fouls and missing most of the first half, Kolby finished with 24 points against Chaska. He has a quick first step at his size, and when matched up with smaller wings/guards did a nice job of dribbling into a post-up and going to work from there. Does a nice job of using his long frame to extend and finish away from his body to avoid looming shot blockers.

With Chanhassen graduating a lot of last year’s scoring, Kolby looks like a player on the verge of breaking out. He came into high school as a roughly 5’10 guard, but has since shot up to 6’5 with explosive athleticism on the wing. He helped lead his team to a win over Anoka, showcasing above the rim finishing ability, a quick spin move off the drive, and range beyond the arc. Size had a hard time moving with him on the perimeter, but smaller players weren’t able to get a good contest on him when he got to the rim. He averaged 7 ppg last season but looks ready to take a big step forward.
