The season is officially upon us, so let's get ready for winter hoops with some preseason All-State picks. The 3A is loaded with some super-talented big men and some highly experienced guards whom we have gotten to know quite well over their high school careers. We also have the country's top recruit in the 2026 class joining the 3A this year. I'll start it off with a handful of seniors I think should lead the way, followed by some more seniors, juniors, and sophomores to watch.

Top Picks

[player_tooltip player_id='2380116' first='Jaden' last='Ghoreishi'] Mt. Spokane

The long post/wing showed up in a big way last season, and really announced himself with his dominance at the state tournament for all the westside fans seeing him for the first time. He's a versatile player who can do a lot on both ends of the floor, and should be a heavy favorite to win a second GSL 4A/3A MVP this winter.

[player_tooltip player_id='1863246' first='Carson' last='Morningstar'] Prairie

Morningstar seems to fly a little under the radar, but the Prairie post has been a steady producer down near the Oregon border and is a legit, space-eating, talented true post in this 2026 class. He'll be their anchor inside on both ends and has a really clean post game that can control the game flow from start to finish.

[player_tooltip player_id='1601813' first='Michael' last='Masini'] Gig Harbor

The Army commit had a huge junior season and now finds his name all over the rebounding records at Gig Harbor. He will continue to be a force down low, but has also shown his ability to stretch the floor and play from the perimeter. He was a big reason the Tides got to the second round in last year's 3A tournament, and should be a constant double-double threat this winter.

[player_tooltip player_id='1685489' first='Yeabsera' last='Aklog'] Eastside Catholic

We have seen how Aklog can dominate a game, helping lead them to the 3A title two years ago as a sophomore. He's continued to play at a high level as a strong post with the skill to play from different spots. He'll be one of the top players in the Metro this season as he looks to get the Crusaders back to placing at State for the third time in his career.

[player_tooltip player_id='1702934' first='Tyran' last='Stokes'] Rainier Beach

The number one player in the nation makes his way to Rainier Beach for the upcoming season, and it's fair to say we are all waiting to see how his season turns out. Stokes is a 6-foot-7, 230-pound wing who can finish with force, knock down the outside shots, and plays with all the athleticism and skill you'd expect from a top prospect. He has narrowed his recruitment down to three schools: Kentucky, Oregon, and Kansas.

[player_tooltip player_id='1863195' first='Jackson' last='Whitaker'] Liberty (Renton)

The Liberty guard has proven to be one of the top scoring threats in the state, averaging 25 points per game last season, leading Liberty to an 18-9 season and wins over Silas and Shorecrest at the state tournament. He's a potent scorer from all over the court and should have his team among the top of the KingCo Crown again this winter.

[player_tooltip player_id='1685492' first='Brian' last='Webster'] O'Dea

Webster is a slashing, sharpshooting guard who will lead O'Dea's talented squad this winter. At O'Dea, Webster has been part of two state tournament appearances, finishing second as a freshman and fifth as a sophomore. They have another chance at a deep run this winter with Webster leading the way.

[player_tooltip player_id='1863191' first='Niko' last='Christofilis'] Seattle Prep

Christofilis finished last season strong at the state tournament, averaging 14 points on 52% FG and 44% 3PT. He enters this season as their leading man as a pretty complete point guard who can also score at a high level. He'll have some newer faces in key roles beside him as he tries to lead them back to the tournament to place for the second year in a row.

More Seniors to Watch: [player_tooltip player_id='2510524' first='Daniel' last='Trotenya'] (Kennewick), [player_tooltip player_id='2173096' first='Rakin' last='Showki'] (Sammamish), [player_tooltip player_id='2464768' first='Gavin' last='Klassen-Matuska'] (Ballard), [player_tooltip player_id='2935273' first='Danny' last='Malok'] (Rainier Beach), [player_tooltip player_id='1587980' first='Ismail' last='Guyo'] (Roosevelt), [player_tooltip player_id='2173099' first='Marques' last='Ili-Meneese'] (Rainier Beach), [player_tooltip player_id='2457283' first='Ethan' last='DeJong'] (Sedro-Woolley), [player_tooltip player_id='1863198' first='Brayden' last='Fischer'] (Shorecrest), [player_tooltip player_id='2375384' first='Caden' last='Andreas'] (Ridgeline), [player_tooltip player_id='2021612' first='Jackson' last='Skaggs'] (Bellevue)

Juniors/Sophomores to Watch: [player_tooltip player_id='2140818' first='Jack' last='Thompson'] (Seattle Prep), [player_tooltip player_id='2140802' first='Achilles' last='Reyna'] (Rainier Beach), [player_tooltip player_id='2116694' first='Trey' last='Collier'] (Silas), [player_tooltip player_id='2140846' first='Micah' last='Ili-Meneese'] (Rainier Beach), [player_tooltip player_id='2393367' first='Kametrius' last='Babbs'] (Rainier Beach), [player_tooltip player_id='2625619' first='Davion' last='Shareef-Dulaney'] (Lincoln-Tacoma), [player_tooltip player_id='2625563' first='Quentin' last='Mosby'] (Lakeside), [player_tooltip player_id='2627281' first='Tytan' last='McNeal'] (Eastside Catholic)
