Ili-Meneese is a big-time athlete who’s not just a high-flyer, but a burly slasher. Once he gets an edge on his defender he’s usually not giving it up. He plays with a relentless attack to the rim, both off the dribble and crashing the glass to clean up plays. The Rainier Beach guard also takes that athleticism to the defensive end where he can send shots back and is a highlight both ways in transition.

Powerful wing/guard with explosive athletic upside that shows up on both ends of the ball. Gets up and down the floor to make plays in transition, has the strength and poise in the halfcourt to make plays in traffic, and shows good body control when elevating at the rim. Has the potential to be a really versatile all-around player. He was a KingCo 2A honorable mention last season for Renton.

Ili-Meneese is a fun player to watch. He’s a guy that plays with power and speed and can really race downhill with the ball in his hands. He got up for an absolutely massive dunk on the break against Sammamish, but what was most impressive with that play was his burst in the open court to beat two Sammamish defenders to the rim. He was also excellent rebounding the ball and is a guy who can go coast to coast and likes to push the pace in transition. But more than just a fast and powerful player, Ili-Meneese shows good body control when working downhill to avoid charges and draw fouls himself. He also made several big plays defensively, both blocking shots and jumping passing lanes for steals. Their next game comes tonight against Bremerton to see who will play in the bi-district championship.

The Renton sophomore is a strong guard who can handle contact near the rim and finish through defenders. He’s an above average rebounder from the backcourt with a high motor and the strength to push out bigger players. Great straight-line speed and a pretty good change of direction, Ili-Meneese is a kid who thrives getting downhill but still shows good patience in his attack.
