Ethan is one of the most athletic players I’ve seen come of the Northwest Conference. He jumps out of the gym, being able to put players on a poster if they don’t get out of the way. DeJong shoots the ball well too, extending his range to three point range. His shot release is quick and he can catch fire at any moment. He is another instant impact player at the college level.
Ethan is a standout wing who has been a key leader for his team throughout the season. His ability to find his spots smoothly, combined with his strength and patience, makes him a constant offensive threat. He excels at scoring from all three levels, showcasing a smooth jump shot and the power to dominate in the paint. Ethan’s consistent performance and versatile scoring abilities have been pivotal to his team’s success.
DeJong looks even stronger this season, and it has shown up with his ability to bump guys off, create space, and finish through contact inside. As of January 8th, he was averaging just under 29 PPG, and he does it efficiently, without taking a ton of threes. He’s a legit, downhill player, and also contributes on the glass.
An explosive athletic wing, he soars above the rim with ease, making every breakaway an opportunity for a highlight-reel dunk. His smooth offensive game allows him to score efficiently from all three levels, showcasing his versatility. With a patient and consistent approach, he reads defenses well, creating scoring opportunities both for himself and his teammates. His dynamic athleticism paired with his refined skills makes him a constant threat on the court.
DeJong popped up fast on our radar this spring and summer and he’s continued to thrive for Sedro-Woolley putting up big scoring numbers. He’s currently leading the Skagit Valley area with 29.4 ppg, and while you can’t ignore his scoring output, he’s also been a really impactful passer dishing out of pressure and assisting with some nifty passes in transition. He has defenses keying in on him and staying tight to counter his smooth shooting stroke but DeJong has shown good patience to gather himself when surrounded and find the right pass out.
Ethan had a great AAU season last summer, competing against high level competition and holding his own with ease. DeJong is extremely athletic and is likely pushing 6’5″ or above now with his height. He gets to his spots smoothly and his mid-range game is deadly now. He recently dropped over 50 points in a game while shooting a high percentage. His game has taken the next step and is one to watch for the season.
Ethan is poised for a MASSIVE junior season after making his game much more well rounded since last year. He averagaed about 19 points a game last year but set this year’s average up really high after an insane performance. He dropped 53 points against Mariner HS, hitting 4 threes in the game while also hitting 15-16 free throws.
