Did a great job attacking boards, going up high and strong to secure them, and was also a factor following drives on the offensive end to clean up possessions. Showed some great IQ maneuvering the paint, both passing and with his off-ball movement, creating some great give-and-go action as well as searching for backdoor opportunities, and moving to space when his man left to help cover drives.

The FOH big man has done a great job making smart plays out of different spots this spring. He’s an excellent offensive rebounder, pulling down three offensive boards in three of their four EYCL games. And he makes good decisions when he gets those second chances, either finishing strong at the hoop or making the key kickout. He has been pretty calm under pressure too, even away from the hoop where he’s shown he can beat some guys off the bounce and attack gaps. He had a huge game against Iso Joe, finishing with 20 points, nine rebounds, and shot 10-for-14 at the foul line. It’s not the first time he’s been able to seal a game at the line down the stretch either. He had a handful of big games at the line this past winter for Gig Harbor and is currently shooting 19-for-27 at the stripe at the EYCL.

Masini worked really well in the PNR showing he can finish from multiple ranges whether it’s getting all the way to the basket, recognizing space to stop and pull short touch shots, or pop out and knock down the midrange shot. He also ran the floor well to get some finishes on the break and worked off the dribble in the midrange at times, but was most effective setting screens and rolling to space.

He really excelled with shots away from the rim, hitting several tough midrange shots either facing up or shooting the turn around. Masani did a good job getting to open spots around the arc and being ready to take and drain threes with a quick release. Was great with dives down the middle, though the ball didn’t find him in there as often as it should have. He was a solid defender all day too, playing physical.
