The prep big man put in some good work out of the post for the Panthers and was their high-scorer across three games at the event, scoring 12, 12, and 24 points. He did well to keep the ball higher on his moves inside, looked quick to his misses to clean up around the rim, and had a nice short turnaround shot working for him. He’ll be a big part of their attack this season and demonstrated his ability to play strong inside and work to the foul line.

Thompson’s a skilled post who did well to seal opponents down low, hold position to make defensive rebounding simple, and also showed the awareness to seal his man out of the lane to open up drives for teammates. He’s a big, strong kid who works a lot by the rim, but also showed the touch to step away and knock down catch-and-shoot looks from the midrange and even out to three.

Thompson is one of the few true big men in his class, and he has the tools to be a high-level prospect. He made the move to Seattle Prep this year and will be a big part of their team on both ends. He’s a double-double threat you can feed on the blocks, and has been showcasing more touch from further out to stretch the floor.

The 6-foot-10 big man will be a huge factor wherever he lines up this season. He’s a legit post prospect who has the footwork to match his size on the blocks and has made some big strides this summer in expanding his game. Thompson has also been showing a pretty reliable stroke outside the paint, and even looks like a kid who can step out and stretch the floor when open from three. It should be a big winter for this rising post.

Can’t teach size and Thompson has it at 6-foot-10. He’s continued to show improvement in his post game. He has the basis of some good moves down low and has shown he can finish with either hand. Next step for him is feeling out defenders and getting to better angles to finish down low. Already has been more aggressive this year while showing better patience to read the help defenders.
