Garfield has some talented slashers, and obviously a big threat around the paint with Gelonni Ervin, but Davis proved just as valuable to their big win over Kennedy with his ability to consistently stretch the floor. He floated with drives, ran to his spots in transition, and had an efficient game knocking in several shots from deep. He can make plays to the basket and defends pretty well too, but his biggest contribution this season should be as a marksman from behind the arc.

Davis is a high-powered shooter from long-range but he’s also shown an ability this spring and summer to play point and set things in motion. He’s got a tight handle, mixes up speeds to keep defenders off-balance and keep separation, and has done a great job using that handle to get in the middle and make things happen. He’ll be a name to watch this winter who could make a significant impact at Garfield.

Davis first stands out for his ability to hit from deep, and he had three games over session two with 2+ 3PM. But aside from his quick, repeatable stroke behind the arc, he also handled the rock a lot and has a decent frame to go along with some quick bursts that make him a secure ballhandler. He looked very comfortable bringing the ball down and setting things in motion, and was also able to convert on a few nice runners when attacking the middle.

The Garfield guard has some quick moves from the perimeter, was able to put the ball on the floor a bit and make some drives, but really stood out for his long-distance shooting. He’s an excellent spot-up shooter, doesn’t mind shooting over the top of defenders, and has some good strength when he goes inside.
