Shareef-Dulaney showed just how dynamic and determined a player he is while leading Lincoln to their first state title game in 24 years. He topped the tournament in total scoring while flashing his skills against two of the top Metro teams. He powered the Abes to a win over Eastside Catholic in the Semifinals with 32 points, then after a dismal first half as a team, led Lincoln’s second-half charge against Rainier Beach, finishing with 18 points.

It wasn’t his biggest stat line, but his impact was felt throughout the game, and he came through with some key 3-pointers with a high-degree of difficulty that kept momentum on Lincoln’s side. He did some great playmaking too, with quick passes ahead, as well as some great extra passes after drawing up multiple defenders that gave his guys wide-open looks. And he got it done on the defensive side with a big block and some steals.

One of the most fearless players, not just in his class, but in the state, Shareef-Dulaney has been even more impressive this season after an MVP freshman year. He’s grown a couple of inches, attacks the rim with even more power, and still has that electric quality with the ball that makes him a threat to score every time he touches the rock. He had a monster 42-point, 22-rebound game earlier this year, highlighting not just his scoring potential but also his energy and motor that show up all over the floor.

He’s been a kid to watch from the first time he stepped on the court for Lincoln, winning his league MVP and leading the Abes to a six-seed at the state tournament last year. Shareef-Dulaney has looked just as impressive this summer with his blend of shot-making, defensive instincts, and shiftiness. He’s continuing to improve physically, and one can only wonder how he’ll follow up such an impressive freshman season.
