Holt was a key figure in helping Lincoln get back to their first title game since 2002, when his father helped the Abes win the second of back-to-back titles. Although the Abes came up just short this time, Holt has been instrumental in their run this season. As their lone big man at the tournament, he finished top-10 in steals, blocks, and rebounds, while averaging double figures offensively. And he was consistent throughout the tourney, scoring at least nine points and grabbing at least seven rebounds each game. Don’t be surprised if these Abes find a way back to the title game next year too.

Holt has been in a groove since the district playoffs, and his play has been instrumental to the Abes’ run to the semifinals. He started the game off with a big block trailing the play, and continued to show his physicality around the rim with some second-effort finishes, and some impressive plays in transition.

Holt played the post role for his Lincoln Abes and caught some attention at the state tournament for his play inside. He’s a tough rebounder, defender, and ended up drawing quite a few fouls during the tournament too. But Holt has a lot more to his game that should start to show up next season. Catch him during the AAU season and you’ll see the big man has some handle and downhill ability to his game, and with his strength he’s able to get to the rim consistently and show off some sneaky athleticism and touch.

Holt didn’t put up massive numbers in the win over Federal Way, but he had a clear impact across the board and was a key anchor for them inside. He racked up five points, five rebounds, four blocks, and two assists to help the Abes advance, and he also made a bunch of smart plays with the rock around the paint, mixing headiness and hustle to make a big impression on the game.
