Expert Analysis
Ryan Morgan | Prep Hoops Scout
Rigney showed he’s one of the more instinctive and impactful two-way players in his class with Foster last season. He’s lining up with Seattle Select this spring and will get a chance to show how his aggression and attack mentality can overwhelm other players his age. He’s a solid outside shooter and is crafty getting to the hoop, and with Foster’s top scorer from last season graduating, he’ll get a chance to play an even bigger role next winter.

Rigney has shown some excellent instincts and reactions on both ends of the floor, and it’s a big reason why he’s second on his team in scoring (13.6), assists (2.5), and steals per game (2.9). He’s got great hands defensively and knows when to take chances, registering at least a steal in 16 games and 2+ steals in 12 games. He’s come up in big moments and is already a player Foster leans on to make plays as they make a push for the Kingco Lake Division crown.

The Foster freshman has already shown he’s a kid who looks to make plays. He’s been an opportunistic defender thus far in the season, anticipating passes, challenging ballhandlers, and creating lots of opportunities for his team to get out and run. He’s also done a nice job of attacking gaps in the half court, making plays to collapse the defense off the bounce, and even has some ability to knock down shots from behind the arc.
