Continue ReadingThe 2026 class is a good one but it has started to be hit by attrition as former #2 Gabe Weis has already left for Montverde and it’s expected that another top player will be gone out of state this summer. There are still plenty of talented prospects in the class and it’s exceptionally deep in the middle with a lot of players who will play D2/NAIA in college. Here’s a look at the best Power Forwards in this rankings update.

Continue Reading- James Turner James Turner 6'6" | PF Newport | 2026 State KY shows flashes of being a big time player but only averaged 9 points and 6 rebounds as a Sophomore. The 6’6 forward has a long offer list thanks to his considerable potential. Hopefully a big summer on the 3SSB circuit will get James to realize just how good he can be if he realizes his potential.
- Taeshawn Adams Taeshawn Adams 6'6" | PF Bryan Station | 2026 State KY is one of my favorite “high upside” prospects in this class. With his length and athleticism, Adams can play MM+ D1. More impressively, Taeshawn could move out to the wing as he shot 57% from three in limited attempts but 77% from the free throw line should tell you that his shooting is legitimate.
- DeAaron Watkins DeAaron Watkins 6'8" | PF Daviess County | 2026 State KY labels himself as a stretch 4 and the stats back that up. Watkins shot 60-49-65 this season and was third on the team at Daviess County in three point attempts as a Sophomore. Personally, I’d like to see DeAaron rebound at a higher rate and be less foul prone but his potential is among the highest in the class.
- Lukas Breedlove Lukas Breedlove 6'6" | PF Lyon County | 2026 State KY is one of the better rim protectors in the state and if his offense can catch up to his defense, he’ll be one of the top players in the 2nd region next year. Expect a breakout season for Breedlove as he will become a big part of the Lyon offense after serving mainly as a lob threat and averaging 4 points and 6 rebounds this season.
- Wayne County’s Kendall Phillips Kendall Phillips 6'5" | PF Wayne County | 2026 State KY is quietly putting together one of the best careers in the state in the 2026 class. On his way to being a 3,000 point scorer, Phillips is the best volume scorer on this list and shot 43% from deep as a Sophomore. He likely projects as a wing at the college level.
- There are several other good PF prospects in this 26 class. Landon Blakey Landon Blakey 6'6" | PF LaRue County | 2026 State KY , Jordan Bender Jordan Bender 6'6" | PF Fern Creek | 2026 State KY and Cayon Gaines Cayon Gaines 6'6" | PF Ballard | 2026 State KY all had solid Sophomore seasons while players like Jarett Simpson Jarett Simpson 6'6" | PF Southwestern | 2026 State KY , RIley Mollette and Logan Wring Logan Wring 6'5" | PF Livingston Central | 2026 State KY are all putting up numbers and have potential to move up in this class.
