Travis finishes where he started, at the top of the 2024 rankings. I believe no one ever knocked Perry off the top spot and he was #1 from wire to wire. He was awarded Mr Basketball last weekend and has Lyon County into the Elite 8 at Rupp on Friday.

For a couple minutes in the fourth quarter, it looked likely that Perry’s high school career would come to an end on Wednesday. That’s when Lyon County turned up the pressure and turned Ashland Blazer over to get easy looks. It all came from Perry and

in the full court press. Thanks to active hands and good hustle, Perry created easy looks for himself and teammates. Down one point late, Perry hit a sweet pull-up jumper to put his team up 1. This momentum started when Perry hit a circus shot at the third quarter buzzer to trim the deficit to just four heading into the final frame. Combine these plays with strong off ball movement to get easy looks and Perry showed why he’s one of the top guards in the Midwest.

Perry had himself a quiet 28 points in a lopsided win vs Bourbon County scoring mostly all of his points off of jump shots. I have always been impressed with how he scores, as most of the shots he makes are tough and contested. He scored both off the dribble and catch and was at his best going right to shoot as it looked much more comfortable for him. Stating the obvious here, but he again proved why he is the best player in the state last night.

There are no surprises at the top of this list as Travis continues his reign at the top of the 24 class. Already the highest scoring player in KHSAA history, the record may be unattainable by the time Travis finishes his career in Match.

Travis is from tiny Eddyville, Kentucky, but has become a top-100 player in America with offers from all over the country. As a Junior, Perry became the state’s all time leading scorer when he broke a decades old record and he still has another full season to pad his stats. A near lock for Kentucky Mr. Basketball, Perry is hoping to get his Lyon County squad back to Rupp Arena to chase a state title.

has signed with the University of Kentucky. The senior averaged 31.6 points a game last season and shot 52.3% from the field, 44.9% from three, and 87.4% from the strike. Perry is good candidate to win Kentucky Mr. Basketball this season and rightly so. He’s a terrific all-around player.

This one is a no brainer. There is a strong argument to be made that Travis is the best player to ever come out of Western Kentucky. He’s at least going to hold all the scoring records when he graduates and is Kentucky’s all time leading scorer right now.

. He’s a D-1 talent that can do it all. He can score at a high level, he can find his open teammates with his outstanding court vision, and he has exceptional handles. Perry isn’t just one of the top players out of this region, but he’s one of the favorites for Kentucky Mr. Basketball. If you have a chance to watch him play, take it. He’s one of the best to do it in Kentucky high school basketball history.

Perry is a lethal scorer, that has proved what he can do time and time again. The KHSAA all-time leading scorer looks to have another outstanding season, after helping Lyon County to two straight state tournament appearances. Travis has many Division I offers and don’t be surprised if more come his way.
